x-play's Game of The Year!

So x-play gave out their awards last night and the game of the year winner was fable 2! taking the award over gears 2 resistance 2 left 4 dead metal gear solid 4 and grand theft auto 4 and FALLOUT 3. i put fallout in caps because i believe that was the game of the year for almost everyone. But y i think Fable won because even though i feel Fallout is a better RPG Fable has everything a better story a real sense of becoming someone and a journey than can be shaped in so many ways! it combines many great story based elements with awesome graphics a lot of diversity so i personally still think FALLOUT 3 IS BETTER because the game is amazing! LOL! but what i am trying to say is fable is an RPG with so much more! thoughts?

They are entitled to their opinion if it is an honest one , but I don't get the logic ..... Fallout 3 won best rpg over Fable 2 , so what gives ? Why not just name Fable 2 best rpg too ?

Yeah that makes no sense whatsoever. If an RPG can't win in it's own genre than how can it win overall ?

fable did everything it has a lot more elements than fallout3 i guess

I already said this in another thread on the same thing, but I genuinely hated Fable 2, so this decision really annoys me.

Yea, and they also said Madden 09 is sports game of the year over NHL09.

You know the same Madden everyone complained about being exactly like 08, and that everything EA changed they just made it worse. Yet critically acclaimed NHL09, labeled the best hockey game ever made, and one of the best sports games of all time, somehow missed the cut?

I wont give X-play the time of day anymore. Fable 2? I'm all for 360 getting a GoTY, but Fable 2 would be the last game I expected to get it.

I haven't played fable but my cousins regreted ever having touched that game.illegalimigrant

That just goes to show you that opinions vary, often greatly. Your cousin hates the game, I love the game. X-play must love it even more and that is why they gave it GOTY. Would you rather them give it to MGS4 or GTAIV just because everybody else is?

I laughed so hard at the ep... so sad...

And after they tried to explain their apparent "fanboyism" (which I don't really see all to much on the show), they go and do this. I'm not saying Fable 2 is a bad game... but it's definitely NOT GOTY.

Well opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has one. When it comes to opinions, no one is wrong. I personally really liked Fable 2. More so than GOW2 or Left 4 Dead. I did not play MGS4 or Fallout 3, though I want to play the latter, but haven't had the time. The whole Fallout 3 winning Best RPG, but not GOTY over Fable 2 is not uncommon. It's happened in the past with many award events. It's something to get your head around, but there's obviously a deep level of thought put into it.

My point is though, as mentioned before, when it comes to opinions, NO ONE is wrong.

On topic: I was pushing for Fallout but everyone is entitled to their opinions, they couldn't have named one game that would have gotten support from everyone. :?
