XSX or PS5: Which one is likely to be the more powerful console?

XSX, and by quite a bit. Devs as well as MS and Sony have already confirmed this. And I prefer both consoles.

Honestly, this whole power thing at least for me is a stupid discussion, since they're both near the same. It's not like you'll see Wii to 360 levels of difference.

I'm going to wait what games they have for launch and I'll decide which console to get, for me that's more important.

funny how Microsoft is using this teraflop thing when lionheart is going to 4 terflops were the xbox one x is 6. but yet lionheart is more capable console.

ps5 is faster and the series x has more teraflops because that is the only number that counts in system wars. sony can utilize there system better with less teraflops but yet everyone will say the series x is more powerful because of that teraflop number.

performance matters in multiplats. If you have the choice, why would you prefer playing them on an inferior hardware?

when comes to ssd load speeds it is and fast i/o speeds.

Quantify for all of us what this SSD can do for a game that the Series X's can't beyond quicker loading.

That is left to be seen. Based on transfer speeds on PC, drives that are 5x faster than the next SSD offer negligible differences.

The PS5 is not faster man,there is nothing that will change that MS as the edge how ever big or small people think it is.

But i do see a problem looming and is how they will try to market this so call 4TF machine,and not vs the xbox one X but vs the series X,if people see they can play Halo on a $299 console and a $500 or more machine which one you think they will go for?

Hell if they don't discontinue the xbox one it would be even more uphill selling it.

Performance: Im not dismissing raw performance. Im stating as I have stated from the beginning that the performance delta between the two platforms is not as great as the raw numbers lead the average consumer to believe. There are things about our system architecture not fully understood, and there are things about theirs as well, that bring the two systems into balance.

People DO understand that Microsoft has some of the smartest graphics programmers IN THE WORLD. We CREATED DirectX, the standard APIs that everyone programs against. So while people laude Sony for their HW skills, do you really think we dont know how to build a system optimized for maximizing graphics for programmers? Seriously? There is no way were giving up a 30%+ advantage to Sony. And ANYONE who has seen both systems running could say there are great looking games on both systems. If there was really huge performance difference it would be obvious.

@r-gamer: The x1x handled native 4k, the pro upscaled. The ps4 often had 1080p while x1 had 720p.

If the xsx does 4k @60fps with RT, even a small difference could mean ps5 dropping to 30fps, upscaling or less RT.

All theories until we see them in action, but I know I'd rather have 18% more grunt than less. That's if it is only 18%.

We do not know how low the PS5 GPU goes.

Clearly the PS5 with it's revolutionary new technology known as an SSD will be the strongest console we gamers have ever seen. Hell, with this kind of tech it will likely take even PC hardware 5 plus years to catch up. The heatsink is also taking over the world wide web, truly a marvel of tech.
