Yeah, but a large part of that list was announced as 07 releases. Many were announced in 05. That's three years ago!

so technically we already know alot about this year's line up. The fun part is learning about all of the suprises -- but those usually dont happen in the first few days of January.
Nintendo probably wants their fanbase to concentrate hype on SSBB for now? I dunno. Nintendo has barely announced anything, so that's surprising.
Sony's 2008 lineup is strong and has been known for a while, although I think they're keeping a few surprises in store, as are MS I think.
I'm mainly concerned about Nintendo's. I'm hoping all that money has gone to some great games for this year...

Me too. Nintendo has never been this quite for this long.
Well, they revealed the Wiimote and then Sony stole their idea in a flash, so maybe they have some big things to reveal and don't want competitors stealing ideas.
Hopefully.

Because motion sensing is just so damn original isn't it?

I'm not going to get into this debate. It's obvious Sony took the idea after the positive reaction Nintendo received from the gaming community after they revealed the Wiimote.
And I don't even care. I like the sixaxis and am glad Sony has motion sensing in it. It's good for some games (and crap for others), and I expect it to be used well in the future. Same thing with the Wiimote.
