One of the best games ever, and he was spot on with every comment.
I'm guessing that his next review will probably be for Monkey Island, unless something new turns up.
almost every :) I mean he sounded like he thought LGS made Thief3 :)One of the best games ever, and he was spot on with every comment.

Hearing this guy exaggerate the flaws of MGS4, SSBB, LBP or other critically honored games just rings false. Javy03Actualy MGS4 was perfect to make fun of considering how it played and how pretentious the plot was

Wow... Some of you people need to stop analyzing his reviews so much and either enjoy them or ignore them. Personally, I thought it was hilarious, so the "It's just not funny any more" crowd need to realize... A lot of us still find it funny. Oh, and, good review.ShafftehrActually I said, "I DON'T FIND HIM FUNNY". I fully acknowledge that some people might and I used to, but like I said, I think its much more interesting when these gimmicky "reviewers" talk about old school games then the new releases that are thoroughly reviewed within 2-5 pages on real review sites. That's just how I feel, I get tired of the one trick pony after a while. Now a THREE TRICK PONY, that's where its at, lol.

Why do MGS4 fanboys never try to form an argument as to why the 'haters' are wrong, they just point out the score it got like that's proof or something.[QUOTE="AdrianWerner"][QUOTE="Javy03"]Hearing this guy exaggerate the flaws of MGS4, SSBB, LBP or other critically honored games just rings false. No he is fond of nitpicking, doesnt understand the purpose of fighting games and just complains about every little thing, but hey that is his shtick and it works well on games that have more cons then pros not games critically praised by a variety of sources.

Why do MGS4 fanboys never try to form an argument as to why the 'haters' are wrong, they just point out the score it got like that's proof or something. Because so many "haters" thought the game was going to flop, and the score proved them wrong. It's the first AAAA of this generation and the fans of the game don' have to make a valid arguemnet because the GS review speaks for itselfWhy do MGS4 fanboys never try to form an argument as to why the 'haters' are wrong, they just point out the score it got like that's proof or something.AAllxxjjnnThere is no wrong opinion. Some people like it and some don't like all things. The only problem comes when people don't acknowledge that their opinion is just an opinoin and others can have different ones.

That's not what i'm saying. They just never back up their opinion or refute points made by those who feel the game is undeserving of it's score. You write up paragraph or two explaining your problems with the game. Instead of them even trying come up with a counter to your statement, they just write "10/10" or bring up other games. The problem comes when people can't back up why they like the game. No interesting conversation stems from this. This board is full of opinion nazi's. Why are you posting here with that kind of attitude? Why bother?

Well, that's the reason non-fanboys tend to like games. You can list a hundred "good" things about one game and compare it to a game about which you can only think of five "good" things, and still like the latter game more simply because you enjoyed playing it more. What is with forum kiddies these days thinking that enjoyment comes from a laundry list of features? Enjoyment is an emotion, not a rational analysis of what is "good."

Because it's boring just saying, "oh i liked this game, yay." It's incredibly boring. This board wouldn't even exist if we acted like rational people.

Its fair enough to enjoy a game but in a debate 'I liked the game' doesn't really work as an argument.
[QUOTE="MegaPigeon"]Is it me, or does he go out of his way to make snide comments about Halo even though he claimed to have never actually played a Halo game in his Halo 3 review?Leejjohno
I never heard such a claim... where does he actually state he never played it?
In his Halo 3 review he says that he had never played a Halo game until Halo 3.[QUOTE="MegaPigeon"]Is it me, or does he go out of his way to make snide comments about Halo even though he claimed to have never actually played a Halo game in his Halo 3 review?Leejjohno

I'm pretty sure in the Halo 3 review he said he'd never played it and everyone else said how good it was, yadda yadda yadda.[QUOTE="Leejjohno"][QUOTE="MegaPigeon"]Is it me, or does he go out of his way to make snide comments about Halo even though he claimed to have never actually played a Halo game in his Halo 3 review?samusarmada

[QUOTE="TreyoftheDead"]I really need to play the Thief games.mo0ksiSame here. I had only played the gimped Thief game (Deadly Shadows) on Gametap and I wasn't really interested when I was playing. I hear Dark Project and Metal Age are much better games.
I just downloaded the demo of the first game and it runs like crap on Vista, even in Win98 mode. :/ It kept freezing during training and now I can't even get there, I keep getting a black screen that won't go away after I click continue.
Hopefully the full game won't fare so poorly should I decide to buy it.
