Yamauchi: "We will give the release date of GT5 soon"

In a short but sweet interview with AutoWeek magazine which must have fallen through the cracks with all the other E3 news, GT series creator KazunoriYamauchi stated that "We will give the release date of Gran Turismo 5 soon." The question remains, though - just how soon is "soon"? Speculation is mounting in our forums, with many pointing towards the upcoming Tokyo Game Show this September 24-27. Aside from taking place on Polyphony Digital's home turf (their offices are located in Tokyo), the 2007 TGS show is where they announced the release date for GT5 Prologue. While this is just speculation, you can see the pieces of the puzzle would fit together quite nicely.

Another surprisingly interesting portion of the interview came when Yamauchi was asked about Gran Turismo 1's development:

AW: How hard was it to make that first game?

KY: It took five years. In those five years, we could not see the end. I would wake up at work, go to sleep at work. It was getting cold, so I knew it must be winter. I estimate I was home only four days a year.

He also mentioned the original game was created by a staff of only 7 people! Oh, how things have changed….

Could this mean that GT 5 is coming this year? If so that means it will go head to head against Forza 3.

I'm a fan of GT and of the quality of the product PD puts out. But I'm not a fan of how they continue to string us along with bread crumbs and broken promises. I no longer believe anything of what PD tells us and until I actually play the game or see definitive in game footage detailing lots of the features that have been promised to us I won't believe that they'll actually be in the game.

Having reached my breaking point with how this company operates, my question is this: If you haven't reached your breaking point, what will it take before you continue to blindy swallow everything they say? I'm at the point where I really don't want to buy this game, but unfortunately, I know that I will.

who cares if you own all 3 consoles lol, and im so getting it but im not hyping this lol , i dont care if it got a 6 here id still buy it based on past expierences ,

timesplitters 3 gc review was more then enough evidence that this site is pretty much not in favor of a particular console, the condoit-another one , yet they dont call prey a generic fps when it is ,

and by the way timesplitters 3 is the same on all 3 platforms , there for shall be granted the same review score at least

the text should be different but the score no , not for a game whos only downfall is that they dont produce enough copies lol ,,
