Yes. Mass Effect is indeed a flop............ on Gamespot.

But, I tend to look at the averages here folks. And many across the web (critics and gamers alike) dont seem to think of this game as a flop. And since when was 8.5 anything to be ashamed of? I'm still playing Persona 3 (rated 8.5) on my PS2.

Look at the averages for moment, and then ask yourself; is Mass Effect truly and unquestionably a flop?

It's a flop in GSbut in the real world, it's not. However, it's ownage considering the amount of hype thrown at Mass Effect. It's still a great, underrated game but in System Wars, it's a flop.

I'm playings tons of flops and enjoy themmore than some of the AAA games here.

I totally agree, I never understand why people hype the crap out of these games like they're the second coming of Jesus. Then they get upset when GS doesn't pull the kneee pads out for all the games that get hyped in the SW forums. If you don't hype it as a 10, then you aren't dissapointed when it gets a 8 or a 9, both of which are great scores.

the game was hyped for over a year now. just face it, the mass effect flop here on GS. but doesnt mean its not a good game. lt-rickhunter

That is why I always look at the "Critic Score" First. After all, the Average Score is more important than a single one, wich may be biased.
