Here's an example of someone who doesn't anything about Resident Evil and probably thinks RE4 was the best RE game. RE4 was the best, code veronica being 2nd best imo.

Many people consider Resident Evil 4 to be one of the best games of all time, while not throwing the other Resident Evil games in with that same list. But don't act like a supremacist because you consider the original Resident Evil games to be of a higher quality than 4, just because they have a higher survival horror element. Last time I checked, that's not what makes or breaks a game.

Most of the people who criticize RE4 for not being survival horror don't think it's a bad game. Imo, the only think that puts RE2 ahead of RE4 is story.
Backgrounds, videos and audio were better on the PSone The 3D models were better on the N64. Its shocking as to how they fit it all in into a single cartridge...
