yes a 7.5 It exceeded it's B hype and Spyro is heading in the right directions.

Even though the game is pretty much not about him and he was thrown in there to sell and trick people, this probably means the IP is more valuable to Activision and the others now.

Spyro still has a long way to go (To catch up with Rival crash) but this may be a step in the right direction.

I'm sure Activision is gleefully clapping their hands because it exceeded hype on GS... I mean who cares if the game sells a lot ya know?

Yeah, one ok score on GS means that the series is returning, and will crush all other games in it's path.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding the premise for this game correctly but isn't the whole figurine collecting thing just a glorified character select screen? Aren't the toys basically DLC that you buy at the store?

Yes they are. I game comes with three characters and you can buy extra Skylanders for $8 and three packs for about $20. You can also buy level packs that include a single new level(which is generally a bit longer than the default ones), a new Skylander and two, what would I call the, power-ups or items. It's devious and it's an ingenious way to do make a ton of money.

Although I will give it to Activision, they didn't cheap out too much on the game. For a game entirely made for children, it's pretty fun.

It's for kids. They can buy the figures to play with both in and out of the game. It's a neat concept.

its not as bad as the PS2 spyro games. unfortunately, skylanders is not a "spyro game." the character is completely tacked on for marketability value. and for that, I cant forgive it

This game actually looks pretty good. If I had a 3DS I would totally get it.

Haha I wish, but Insomniac Games are the real creators of Spyro so without them all those other games suck IMO.

I'll admit. I do want the 3DS version of this game.

I also think it's quite a genious move, Sell the Game and Sell Toys to go with it, a Nice Combo for this Holiday, the Kid will not only be getting a Game, but a heap of cool looking Toys to boot.

Better than expected.

Spyro is back,but in a bad way. You have to pretty much bleed around $100-$200 to get every single thing in this game including the characters.

I've seen some people play it. It actally looks fun.

Now I'm not interested in it and if I do get it I'll probly won't get all the toys, but it's a nice gimic for kids. They see it, they want it, they cry when if/ when they don't get it causing there parents to go buy it. It's actally a nice sceme to make money becasue 1) your getting a game + toys to play with in the game and 2) you can play with the toys even when your not playing it on the consoles or handheld. A small but nice bonus I'd say. For kids of course.

I'm getting this for Christmas and so psyched! I love Spyro! 1-3 is the best video game series ever IMO! Even A Heros Tale, to a lesser extent, was good! This, while being completely different, isn't exactly a Spyro game! It's a game with its own story and setting that happens to have Spyro in a big way!

Enter the Dragonfly and especially the Legend series have taken a lot from Spyro. The trailer for Skylanders really hooked me! It's aimed at a Cartoon Network and Spongebob type audience and, lucky for me, it works! Not sure about the extra characters but I can't rule it out!
