York chapter from Ryse is the best ive seen

Graphically Ryse (its Crytek, so no surprise) is superb. No doubting that at all.

But Ryse isn't a complete package and suffers from the worst thing a video game can suffer from - being a good game underneath the flab and tedium of a bad game.

So where did Boudica get elephants from again? Did she hook up with Hannibal off-screen or something?

The game wasn't as bad as I was expecting. The graphics are wonderful. The game control gets tedious after awhile. The game plays like Spartacus Legends only with more enemies to fight at once. It's still a fun game in small doses. I've played much worse games then Ryse.

@R3FURBISHED: man you cant knock it unless you played and its a pretty good game for sp and im having funny with the multiplayer and that's really what gaming is about , challenging, astounding visual , and most of all fun

Ryse mated with knack and had a son known as Lair. Together they created the legion of doom and ....what the hell am I typing?

The game is on rail and is in 900p... Call me when this kind of things is seen in 1080p/open world or at least have environments bigger than a bathroom.

I have played it - 600 achievements in it. GameFly is doing a free month so I rented it.

The combat is tedious and monotonous the characters aren't bad but everything is so contrived and forced. But I absolutely stand by my point that there is a very special game inside Ryse - a game that could at the very least match God of War (I LOVE God of War) so thats what made Ryse so disappointing for me that there is a very good game in there but its suffocated underneath stupid ballista sections.

I don't think Ryse is a 4.0 because the game isn't broken, but at the same time its hard to say its not a bad game. Especially when Ryse could have been SO much better.

Game was judged too harshly Its awesome and I enjoy the gameplay

Ryse was a huge disappointment in my opinion, its all style and no substance. The combat is tedious and gets repetitive too quickly, and I found the storyline to be boring! The biggest waste of money this gen so far by a long distance!
