This game makes me feel all good and happy inside. The music makes me feel like a little kid again. I feel like I'm walking on rainbows and the teletubbies are dancing around me. Is this the feel good game of the year, SW? I think it sure is.

Didn't you recently complain about splatoon being kiddy? But now you're praising a game for making you feel like a little kid
To be honest, Woolly World is FAR far cuter than Splatoon. In fact, Splatoon's aesthetic becomes obnoxious after a bit. Woolly World could end wars if leaders would just play this game.
I would say yes. I don't feel the music is kiddy though or the game itself. I'm trying to gold star every level, so while the levels are easy from point a to b, trying to find everything is a challenge. Basically though is it the game I play at the end of the night since it's October and I tend to watch a lot of horror movies and I end it with a bit of Yoshi now for a reliever. It's calming and relaxing overall.

He personifies the meaning of the word "fickle".
This is my next game, i think ill be starting it within a few days. Ill be playing it in coop, expecting some jolly times.

To be fair, Yoshi is classy. Splatoon is generic moe/pixar crap.

Well, theres a slight yet distinct difference between them.
This is my surprise game of 2015 so far. It's simply not what I expected. I didn't even buy this game (nor was I planning to) -- It was given to me by sister who bought it for my nephew to play and was just too hard for him.
Anyway, my initial impressions:
I know not every reviewer gave this game a good score. I can only think that the reason for that is because they themselves aren't big on platformers (and that's fine). But the game is quite good and I'm very fortunate to have gotten my copy for free! :)
Logging on here and reading all the backtracking and excuses after the review certainly made me feel warm inside.
This game is just pure fun. Was wondering how they could keep it fresh after Kirbys Epic Yarn, but this is some awesome stuff so far. Im in world 2 now through co-op and have already been replaying levels to search for extra stuff. Throwing the yarn is fun also, and i love the fact i can run and aim.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this game. The S-Levels are inventive. That's also where the game hides its most difficult levels. I can't imagine anyone playing this game and ignoring the collectibles. Not only do you miss out on level exploration but that's where all the challenge lies. Otherwise you'd be bored out of your mind.

If this was an indie game and if you replaced every known character with something new people would be tripping over themselves to praise this game.
Woolly World is the ANT MAN movie of the video game world. We're so used to good shit we take it for granted. But if they were the first of their kind they would be praised to high heaven.
Its a feel good game when your just playing through the levels. Going for all the collectables and finishing the stage with full health is tense though

This x 100
Game is pretty awesome. I remember thinking that this had the potential to be as good as Yoshi's Island. Now while it clearly isn't (Yoshi's Island is probably one of the top 10 games of all time IMO), it is a great game.Solid addition to the Wii U's exclusive library.
So.....another fail review from Gamespot?
*looks at newest assassin's creed review*
YES. In more than one way.
I haven't played it. I do't have much interest in the game despite my love of the platforming genre. I usually require tight level design with a decent amount of challenge to keep me engaged. This game might end up being dull mechanically and boring in the level design much like Puppeteer was.

Seems a bit unfair to say that. He makes some very good points: namely, just finishing the levels is way too easy but the collectathon aspect can be boring and arbitrarily hard. He specifically mentions getting 99 items by logic, but having to luck into the last one. Gamers who just play through the levels could be bored, but gamers who try and collect everything could be frustrated.
I'm actually really grateful for this review, because that's exactly the issue I had with a very similar title from this same developer: Kirby's Epic Yarn. I'm a fan of previous Kirby titles but that one, despite it's lovely cute graphics, was insultingly simple and short. I was told that the "challenge" was from collecting items, but that just seemed deathly dull. I never care to scour games for collectables, that's anti fun for me.
I know I'll get killed for saying this by the fans, but this Yoshi game (and Kirby before it) are clearly just simple kids games with a bit of extra interest and challenge added for older gamers via the collectables. As an adult gamer who found the collectathon boring, I can totally see why the reviewer gave it a 6. I'd give a similar score to Kirby's Epic Yarn for the same reasons.

This has more variety than mario ever had. You'll hardly find 2 levels that look alike Difficulty wise it's harder than Yoshi's Island if that counts. Also no dull cutscenes like Puppeteer.

But thats the point, things that you might find boring or too hard, might be fun and rewarding to a majority. I found the coop, single play, boss fights, scoring gold and collectibles to be very fun in Kirbys Epic Yarn.
Majority that play will agree, Kirbys Epic Yarn is a fun game, majority that play Yoshi Woolly World will also agree, its a fun game.
@mesome713: Of course. And a different reviewer could give this title a 9 or a 10/10, no problem! I'm just saying, it's ok that the Gamespot reviewer found it to be a 6/10 game. Since he had good reasons to back up his score, it's unfair to call it "another fail review". It made sense and helped me, anyway!
"Majority that play will agree, Kirbys Epic Yarn is a fun game, majority that play Yoshi Woolly World will also agree, its a fun game."
That's just nonsense though, you're just making stuff up for no reason, you don't have a clue what the majority think. No need to tarnish a good post by making stuff up.
@greengamer: I wouldnt call it fact, but looking at the majority of fans and critics that played and rated the game seems to agree its fun.
The gamespot review was bad for other reasons, not just the low score. We have been getting low scores from Gamespot where they way lower then the average, and then all the sudden Yoshi Woolly World releases and gets scored low compared to majority of critics. So we read and wonder why, and then we read this.
Yoshi Woolly World
The Bad -
Basically saying the game is too easy, looks might not impress you, some collectibles are super hard to find, and the fun lies within the side stuff and not the main game. Then the rating 6 gets stamped. Of course your mad, you read the review, get even more upset and post your frustration. The review was called a weak review cause it seemed to have some weak points.

Yes, he lists his problems with the game (which all make sense to me, I recognise the same thing from Kirby) and gives a justified score. I'm not seeing an issue?
"Of course your mad, you read the review, get even more upset and post your frustration."
Uh, what? I'm not mad or upset, and I didn't post any frustration :) I'm grateful for the GS review and I'm answering the guy who asked if it was a "fail review". I gave my opinion that no, it is a good review, as it alerted me to this being the same deal as Kirby's Epic Yarn: good basic game for kids and lots of collectibles if you're into that. I, and the reviewer, are not into that, hence the 6/10 score and me skipping it.
There's no need to make stuff up, claim to know what the majority feel, or indeed how I feel! :)

That seemed pretty directed at me, ha. Anyway. We can move on. You like it, I would't, so the review was very useful to me. That's the only point that's being made.
@greengamer: O yeah my bad, i was talking in general. But yeah, some will not like it and the review will not be useful to many.
Hmm guys, the game flopped here. Y'all are not supposed to enjoy it. Something's wrong.
May check it out like sometime next year. Not in a hurry to try it, even through I'm a big Yoshi Island fan.
