you don't even have to pay for the whole year, I just buy a 1 month prepaid card when a good MP game releases

cuz I usually play MP fo the first month when the game releases, the rest of the year I usually don't use

$50 a year is not the issue for me. The issue is that I wouldn't use any of the other features besides P2P gaming, and I get it for free on PC, PS3, and PSP. It's seriously all about the principle. Paying for standard features sets an ugly precedent, and we are starting to see the effects. Next-gen the sky is the limit for how much they will be reaming us. jjenkins78x

the said thing is.... it is worth it. i definitely do not mind paying for xbl for a year. its a great service. i have psn as well and you can 100% tell the difference. killzone 2, when i play online, cuts out sometimes, but when i play h3 or gow2 it never happened. (actually maybe twice)

but i can see why ppl may be frustrated, imo its totally worth it.

Xbox live cost 40 dollars a year, not 50, look at amazon.
