I don't think Sony will ever outright match what Microsoft has, but they're doing a great job of trying, and hopefully, it pushes Microsoft to come up with even more innovative things to stay far enough ahead to have a true advantage.

Actually Mr. Softy is supposed to get into a deal with Netflix. So that should open up the movie/TV rental system, if anyone cares. I try to avoid watching Movie/TV on my game console.

I'm tired of this arguement. Xbox 360 came out first so they should have it first. oh and thank you sony for making us pay $50 a year.

It looks like crap. Especially Home. I don't like Second Life, so I doubt I would want to use Home.

I guess the question is why did it take them over 2 years to implement? ...The second MS went Live with the 360..Sony checked it out and had to know what they needed to do...

Yeah, people act like XBL was this good when it first started. I know PSN will probably never be on the same level as XBL, but that's because Microsoft has no choice. They have to keep improving XBL and keeping it alot better than PSN if they want to keep a price tag on it.

You forgot two of the biggest things about the network:

Resistance 2.....MP is gonna be huge in this game

and LBP.....I think online integration/features are gonna be a huge part of the experience of this game

I understand your point...but the time table of where PSN is in comparison to live 4 years ago is moot...Sony has been looking at the service from day one...So I am just woundering what took them so long?

You try to avoid watching movies on your console? Urrm why. Hmm which to buy that 350 pound blu-ray player or the 300 pound PS3 which plays games, and movies. Tough choice. I could see why maybe you'd say you dont like watching TV/movies on a PC, but with a console it's on the TV you'd normally watch movies...

I hope there is alot of content available right away for the video service.

yeah, after this they need to focus on getting games onto PSN. more PS1 games are needed. PS2 games should be introduced, and more original PSN games need to be coming out.

also they should work on unifying the network better with things like chat, cross-game invites and leaderboards for every game. also they just need to make it more fun and easy to use.

but live has all of those things and more.... for 2 years now...... so i think sony should be booed not praisedtomertr
