You know...The Order isn't that bad

For all the negativity surrounding this game when it came out I sorta just blew through it on normal difficulty.

Bought again during the Black Friday sale on PSN for $10.

Played it on hard and it was a much more engrossing experience. The black bars didn't bother me...the QTE events went quickly and the game does look great.

Not to mention the end.

They better continue this story after that ending. Just let Ready At Dawn fix some of the stuff ppl complained about....hell...it was their first major game I believe.

Am I the only one who actually enjoyed it either more the second time around or at all and wants them to continue the story?

Until Dawn is a much better "game" than the Order ever was.

The game is everything that is bad about gaming today. Wayyy too many cutscenes, especially pointless ones. Limited gameplay, a story that doesn't make sense.

Spoiler alert....

In the stealth mode you die as soon as they turn around??? 5 minutes before Mr Gallahan is taking rounds like Antonio Margarito takes power punches. Now he dies the second an enemy turns around.

The final boss fight... Why don't I just shoot that guy instead of wrestling him. 1 shot kills the guy.

The game is a mess.

It was worth a rental or the $10

The game maybe beautiful, it was a mess overall. The combat was okay aside it borrow from Gears cover system, the cut-scenes is what was the problem and asking for $60 was the real deal breaker for this game.

Stealth missions, that has to be the poorest thing that Gallahan gets spotted and dies from a shot to the face, it won't let you react to do anything but let you die. The Lycan aren't the true enemies that you have to fear, those Shotgunners were the horror in Order: 1886. Glad I rented that game back in February.

It's enjoyable, but there are blatant weaknesses that need caressing if a sequel were to ever be considered.

Wait you purchased a game for the second time instead of just replaying the copy you already had? With that sound judgment I think the rest of the post needs to be taken with a grain of sanity salt.

It's an average video game at best. The visual work is fantastic (herpa derp but blury, who fucking cares? it looks good, shh), but the actual playing it part is the most plain third person shooter. The few instances it could surprise you, the creative guns are either still really dull (creatively and in terms of actually shooting them) or you have shit like werewolf fights that have nothing to them. It's not bad, necessarily, and certainly the setting has enough potential. But, if Read at Dawn gets a 2nd crack at this the gameplay needs to be something fucking more than cover based shooter. Because that's all it is "cover based shooter". Nothing more and nothing less.

So you bought it again? Despite owning it lol Basically your trying to convince people its actual worth a damn like you been doing in the past.

You're right....................................its fucking worse. It is one of the easiest Platinum trophies to obtain and I have none. My friend lent it to me, he doesn't want it back, and I still cant bring myself to fire it up a second time to get that trophy.

I got it super cheap too, at like chapter 5 or something and it's not terrible. Little too heavy on the cutscenes, and the combat is pretty standard, at least the weapons are cool. Man it's pretty to look at though.

Need to power through the rest of it sometime, it's better than I was expecting, definitely glad I didn't spend 60 on it though.

I bought it for $10 too, but after 25mins I got bored and couldnt even....

the 24fps was a bad decision

I just watched the let's play of it since you don't really play the movie.

They already said it only worth 10-20 bucks in every review.

@mr_huggles_dog: I'm in agreement with you there sir. The gameplay was not amazing but it was by no means bad - the shooting was fun and the sound design and graphics complemented it well; and they managed to think up some interesting encounters.

And the story is what really shined for me, really cool setting and concept, and an ending that left me desiring a sequel. It's a just a shame that the game as a whole was not popular in the masses so may never get the sequel that it needs :(

We should expect more from games than a glorified tech demo.

The Order was a huge step down compared to the previous games RAD made.

The replay value ? If they wanted to focus on story and narrative with lots of cutscenes and QTE's then maybe they should've done something similar to what Telltale games is doing...And definitely not asking for 60$.

Maybe releasing it in parts... for like 15$ each...for example.

No its bad. Unplayable to be exact. Setting is great and should be used by way more games. Characters were cool or at least i liked the crew. Graphics nuke anything available on Xbone. But that's about it, nothing else positive.

I don't buy a very short game like that day 1, but for $9 I'm sure it will be fine. I'm actually going to play it right after I 100% Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. Going to get two, mediocre "Victorian Era London" games over with back to back LOL. Though I'm actually enjoying AC: Syndicate much more than I thought I would. Hopefully I will also find The Order to be under-rated.

Well, I don't think it's "unplayable" like some are making it out to be. Unplayable is broken to the point it doesn't work.

And for those that asked.....no I didn't buy it while owning it. I trade in most of my games.

........Or, you know... It was such a disappointment, he sold it very soon after the purchase and then bought it again last week. *rolls eyes*

It was a QTE riddled tech demo, half a block buster title with a seemingly great story and character design. The whole thing was a failed experiment, it was the PS4's LAIR so to speak, lets move on.

For $10 I'm sure it's worth at least that, for no other reason than to set the stage for a (hopefully) much improved sequel. Can't be any worse than MGS4, people still refuse to call that turd a turd. I'm pay $10 just to see and experience furst hand all its shortcomings myself.

@Zlurodirom: ....So, in this scenario, in which you question someone's sanity because they've purchased a second copy of a game rather than playing the copy they already own, they don't actually own the original copy anymore, so in order to play it, another one is needed.

The Order is average. It was supposed to be PS4's Ryse. A pretty tech demo. The problem is The Order got delayed, and when it came out it was just an average game with great graphics.

That being said, yeah it's worth $10. Game isn't terrible, just mediocre.

No, it wasn't. I was pleasently surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it. Definitely does not deserve half the hate it gets imo. way worse games out there that got rave reviews that I found boring. Saying this the game definitely isnt without its flaws. If they skipped all the cinematic bullcrap it would be a very good game. As it is... it is just a decent one

I actually enjoyed it ... Also went in with low expectations.

The good?

1. Great graphics

2. Awesome production values, music, voice acting etc.

3. I actually enjoyed the story.. not sure how people said it made no sense( It made perfect sense)

4. The shooting was enjoyable(mechanics, weapons, animations etc)

The bad?

1. To short

2. Not enough enemy variety

3. Weak boss battles

I really like it and played through it twice, there's a lot I loved about it. I will surely play it again in the future.

It really blurred the line between games and film.

Somehow, I feel like Teufellhuhn is too embarrassed to come here again since this was his first big game he worked on since being a Janitor at RaD.

Cows are playing The Order while sheep are playing Xenoblade Chronicles X and lemmings are playing Halo 5.
