[QUOTE="Coredog777"]More JRPG's announced today.white_soxWhat were they?
something was announced today. They have 3 upcoming JPRG titles they are putting alot of stock in.
whats the point of trying :S ?
Japan is currenty Crazy about MGs4 right now.
after that the install base is higher than ever compared to 360
then the other big guns of last rm, white knifhg story and ff13 will be brought out one after another
360 doesn't stand a chance imo.
You know, it would make a lot more sense if you made a thread like this when the actual games are announced. >_>
Not an announcement on the announcement of said games.
The 360 is actually quite the improvement over the Xbox.
Fanboys like to ignore this, but 360 weekly software sales are very close to PS3 software sales, even with PS3 hardware up 1.5 million over 360 in the region.
That shows that the 360 sells to hardcore Japanese people, and they tend to stay loyal. The PROBLEM is that the 360 failed completely to get into the casual market.
At least the 360 is increasing the brand name. Maybe with the next XBox, more progress will be made.

I agree.. By the Way, WTF is your Sig... Its so Scarey and Cool at the same time...
I think their doing this so that when more people discover the Japanise orintated games they will stick to the system over time. There thinking in decades in Japan not months. They are going to continously strive to get a footing in Japan, and in my opinion all it takes is Gundam games and some sort of Final Fantasy to be there. I think they get a bad rep in Japan mostley because Microsoft is not like Sega where they at least have some sort of fanbase over there, and they are trying really hard to get that fanbase.
I belive they should be given Kudos but Bizzare Creations is now with evil Activision.
More JRPG's announced today..... Why does MS go after a market that could care less about an american gaming console? Gotta give MS credit for trying......what do you guys think?Coredog777
What JRPG's were announced today, Huh?
Are you sure you didn't just read some thread title, and decide to create this thread based on that?
Anyways, this is a business, and Microsoft is bleeding money in Japan, so I am glad they keep trying, and frankly I wouldn't understand if they gave up, that would be illogical.

Exactly, it's hard to give credit for doing nothing. What NEW JRPGs did they announce? From what I can tell, No new ones.
You want to know why MS is trying to penetrate the Japanese market? Because they know they can't ride on the spine of Americas sales for the entire generation and they will also want strong support in all areas for there next machine.
America is a sales beast, but the UK and Japanese markets can easilly out do it if support is strong enough.

Americans and Europeans buy the JRPGs MS commissions in Japan - I'm not certain if you'd call it "catering to the Japanese audience" so much as "putting games on their console that their core audience demands".

More like "putting games on their console that their competition's core audience demands." The thought that I may have to buy a 360 someday to play this gen's rpg's makes my brain melt.

Did I miss something? What NEW JRPGs were announced? This thread fails. There was an announcement of future games coming, but no real announcements...unless I'm mistaken.

There weren't any announced.
There was just an announcement of future JRPG announcements.
The TC has twisted this fact around.
