I guess MS isn't immune to f ups
I wasn't able to get a PS5 but was able to get a Xbox. I wonder which one was worse?🤔
You were never getting a PS5 regardless.
LMAO! Poor guy... (not really)
Both were a mess, but I was able to secure more Xbox preorders than PS5.
@Pedro: I wouldn't base your judgement upon your own experiences in general
Isn't that the very nature of this thread?
You were one of them who was calling out Sony for messing up pre-orders its time to call out your boss Microsoft like YouTube has done.
@Pedro: is it? I don't think daredevils is going to preorder an xbox
You guess correctly .
I just find it funny how the other day lems were like, MS will never mess up on preorders.

The only thing MS did better was tell you when and where you were going to be pissed off and frustrated. LMAO.

Lmao , I can't stop laughing.
Both Sony and Microsoft as well as retailers are to blame. Stop singling just one company out. In this case Microsoft handled it better because we at least knew a time and date unlike Sony just surprising everyone via Twitter that pre-orders are live and not even during the event
Can anyone explain why either company would be at blame for pre-order issues? I mean yeah Sony messed up with the surprise it's live but other than that what did either do? Are we talking the number of available units? I mean it's not like they're supposed to have an unlimited supply at launch.
I tried getting an XSX this morning through various sites. They all were slow, wouldn’t load, or flat out said unavailable when I got to check out. On a whim, I called a smaller local chain and they told me to come in person and that they had availability through that method - I guess they reserved some preorders that way. Went in and paid for it in full. Preorder confirmed for launch day pick up.
*whew*

Sony stated pre-orders were going to be available on the Friday but it started on the Thursday. Pre-ordering online was going to be a challenge regardless of the company but at least one of the two companies kept to the schedule.
Last time I experienced this kind of mess on the Microsoft store website was when I got my XB1 on a Black Friday sale. I saw others at time complaining that it happens each year. That was several years ago.
I still stand by my original claim that a loyalty based advance pre-order system should have been used by both. Bother companies could set a metric threshold for an upper percentile of user activity to give advance pre-order access too, based on a balance of spending habits and tracked gameplay activity.
@enzyme36: Not necessarily. I was online a minute after 11am and was unsuccessful. Maybe the site I was on was bombarded, but it slowed me down from searching elsewhere and they were unavailable too.
Thats ruff... they put out on twitter that most retailers didnt end up going live 11 EST. IF you hung out a lil more you would of nabbed one. But I understand your frustration.
By easy to get, its more like it was possible for a human to get one. Thats about all you can ask for these days. IF an online order is up for more than 10 mins of availability and you are prepared... thats about the best you can hope for during these type of hyped releases.
When something is sold out in under a sec... thats what I call difficult to get.

In person pre orders may be something some of these retailers should focus on in the future to avoid bots and scalpers.
I could have gotten a Series X 15 minutes after pre-orders going live. The only launch game I wanted though is Cyberpunk 2077 and I can get that on PS5. I also prefer Gran Turismo over Forza from what I played of Forza 2 horizon on 360.
Series X had me thinking though with how PS5 screwed the pre-order process and Bethesda addition. There were other factors as well. I wasn’t able to pre-order a PS5.
@daredevils2k: It doesn’t matter if Microsoft screwed up the preorders - Sony has already been eliminated as competition.

You don’t know that unless your check out is confirmed. On three sites I got this far and was informed, at checkout, it was unavailable.
I was on the checkout my cart and on the top it said in green “item in stock.” With the PS5 I made it to my cart but then it said on top “item out of stock.” But you could be right.

You represent 0.000000000001% of the gaming industry just saying.

You are asking to much of double face Pedro.🤣
He doesn't question his master he just question sony.
The only thing MS did better was tell you when and where you were going to be pissed off and frustrated. LMAO.
Oh sony did that too,the only difference is MS threaten retailers about opening pre-orders before the pissing day, while sony say shit to retailers.
In both cases both screw up.
I'll say what is said in the PS5 pre-order Joe thread, is he good again or bad, its hard to keep up these days.
@daredevils2k: that was expected. PS5 was the smoothest. You NEVER post date and time for preordering. Just effing drop it. Enough people will notice and spread the word or ended up like NVIDIA launch.
@daredevils2k: It doesn’t matter if Microsoft screwed up the preorders - Sony has already been eliminated as competition.
LOL poor guy, with all the losing MS did this gen, this guy already in delusional mode. It's okay man, we will just announce MS as the winner of next gen if that helps you sleep better at night.
@daredevils2k: I already sleep like a baby knowing Microsoft is slowly dismantling one of the most hideously decrepit corporations in history.
I slept particularly well in 2011!
You, on the other hand, will never sleep again.

@daredevils2k: "You would of thought MS could learn from Sony pre-order mistakes, but nope."
Sony's problem is that they had pre-orders start before people even knew they were coming. MS stuck to their pre-order timeline. Regardless, demand was greater than the supply. It sucks, sure, but hopefully a sign of an enthusiastic next generation.
And according to ReviewTechUSA, Sony's mistake turned out to be convenient to him because he had been notified by someone early about pre-orders going live and secured two early, and like he said again in this video, he had advantage of scalpers being ill prepared to eat up the pre-order supplies. Was the lesson to be learned to release them out of the blue when nobody was expecting them? Can't imagine those who couldn't get them would be any less disappointed.
