My first impressions - this is the best Assassin Creed to date. Finally Ubisoft nailed it in recreating the appeal of AC2 and Brotherhood. The main character is a french version of Etzio Auditore, and I must notice he even surpasses Etzio in charisma. The game is played like a good action adventures with a lot of comic elements and humor that I loved about AC2. And then AC3 Revolution got too bloody serious with north american indigenous people genocide of theirs. AC4 was better, but naval combat got too repetitive, and the main character still was kinda grumpy.
This time around the game is much more lighthearted. And holy shit, those cutscenes, textures, population density, lighting and special effects are trully good. But you will only appreciate it if you turn TXAA on. By some reason my gtx780 is getting more fps using this option than all other AA. Without it the gamedoesn't look that great. TXAA removes that shitty grainy visuals.
And regarding game performance... unfortunately IS NOT VERY GOOD. It's not like it's choppy or something, gameplay is smooth and never falls under 30, BUT it never goes beyond 45fps. It's like the game strives to run at 30 FPS. I am getting around 30-40 fps at high, very high and ultra with little or no difference. It looks like the game doesn't care if you lower or increase the quality, it just will run at bloody 30-45 fps at all settings.
My setup is
I7-5930k 6 COREs - multi thread support my ass, the game would run on a simple 4 core i7.
16 GB DDR4
and GTX780
Getting 30-45 fps at ultra with TXAA at 1080p
Getting 30-45 fps at very high quality, AA disabled at 1440p
The game is unoptimized, but it's still GORGEOUS
The population density is trully next gen

The clothes textures look marvelous

Those fireworks. My gosh.

Cutscenes are top notch and there is no delay in transition between gameplay and cutscenes
