Your biggest personal flops

Games that you were personally anticiping alone without telling people and stuff and didn't met your expectations.

I will start with True Crime New York City and Shadow the Hedgehog. Both unfinished games.

Thief 3 and Neverwinter Nights.

NBA Live Series on PS2 and beyond.

The series was so GOOD during the SNES/PS1 days.

Well, we'll just say that it's been disscussed ALOT in sw. But my true hype was mainly personal.

the flop: halo 3 :(.

The one thing that truly hyped me 100% was where I read that it was going to be Like halo CE. Of course thats not true, and just because it was a little more like halo 2, it was a bit of a flop for me.

Tales of Rebirth, Shadow Hearts and Onimusha.

Oh yeah, RE4 should count I guess. I finished it but it was merely satisfying.

Halo 1, played it because of all the hype.

True Crime, the first one, wow that game blew.

The most recent BIG flop for me: Quake 4 :(

Devil May Cry 2

Fifa series. If this game with its official licence was as good as Pro Evolution Soccer then it would be the best sports game out there.

I would honestly rate that game like 6.5 or something...

More recently, Heavenly Sword's repetitive gameplay failed to live up to my expectations. Constant "unable to join game" messages in Warhawk are also disappointing, although these can be fixed.

Supreme Commander. Supcom looked insane from the videos and pics but the game wasnt fun.

Super Paper Mario. Fun game, didn't hold my attention nearly enough. I had to force myself to play it at times.OhhSnap50893

Dead Rising- save system made me want to kill myself

Twisted Metal 3- what the hell did they do to the controls??

Call of Duty 3- campaign blew, online was Ok... no COD 2 though

Mario Sunshine- kinda fun I guess.. not really

Star Fox Assault- How could they mess up Star Fox???

FF8. i was finished FF7 and was greatly anticipating 8. reviews and everything were good. but...woah that game was terible imho. started out well...but then went south oh so very fast. rubbish game imho.

DE2. what a let down...not even a shadow of its daddy. DE1 is the best game ever made ever...but it was probably a fluke.

freelancer. i quite like this game...nice controls...good story. but it really just fell way short of what i expected. the game feels like its in desperate need of a massive expansion pack. unfortunately MS have completly ignored it to focus on other projects...good ol MS *sigh*.

guild wars factions: the game isnt bad...its just not up to standard imho. nice setting but they could have done so much more with the PVE element in terms of story and content.

Unreal II. Unreal was my favorite FPS of all time, probably my favorite game of all time at the time of its release, and so I was obviously very anticipating Unreal II. I was expecting one of the greatest games of all time, and I ended up with a merely okayone.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 was also a pretty big dissappointment, but that game was rushed and had an unfinished story and ending, so I don't hold the developer responsible for that.

Only one that comes to mind is advent rising. I'm a huge Orson Scott Card fan and he wrote the storyline. I was so pumped and then it flopped....hard.....like lair flopped.eddy_of_york
