I thought the title meant "which title that Gamespot gave the Game of the Year award to was your favorite?" :lol: (the correct response for me, BTW, is Total Annihilation). The best game I've played this year, though, was The Witcher Enhanced Edition :)
So far, probably Gears of War 2. Which is surprising, because the first Gears really didn't leave a lasting impression on me...Gears of War 2 really has an excellent campaign. Extremely well paced and almost always thrilling.
To be fair though, I haven't really gotten around to playing all the big releases this year. Honestly I have been playing Team Fortress 2 more than anything else :P
Favorite RELEASED game of the year that I own - MGS4. Followed by LBP.
Favorite BETA I've played this year: Killzone 2, easily. Followed by Resistance 2 (I don't own it .. yet)
PS3 Game: MGS4 360 Game: Fable II PC Game: uhh, I dunno. haven't played too many games on my PC lately. But i guess WoW is a pretty safe bet, even if it wasn't "RELEASED" in 2008. hehe. new content every month practically! (Stopped playing in March I think.. Still having withdrawls). And even though it's not a PC exclusive, PORTAL was/is amazing! Multiplat Game: The best multiplat I own is GTAIV. But that was also the last multiplat I purchased, and that was back when it came out. hehe.
Games I look forward to playing from 2008, *probably* in 2009? Resistance 2 Fallout 3 Valkyria Chronicles
I'm also semi-interested in Bioshock, and would pick it up for $20 used :D :P
So far it has to be SIREN: Blood Curse, but im getting GTi Club+ and Prince of Persia within the next week and I think they both have good chances of beating SIREN.
We all know who youll be pushing for GOTY:P I think its really sad that MGS4 has stolen the show, i mean dont get me wrong, its a fantastic game, but FAR FAR FAR from a 10, a nice 9.5 at least. GTAIV is a much bigger and fully fleshed out game hence you can see it getting a 10. Oh well, i really hope that the likes of the 9.0 games have a good chance this year, RFOM2 being again a really fleshed out package that got docked fairly for being a little generic, but still got awarded for doing everything right
I didn't buy a lot of games this year for some reason maybe its cause i only have a wii for console:cry: (i have a pc though) but i actually really enjopyed De Blob but out of all the games i bought it was the Orange box even though it came out a little over a year ago
Even though its not out yet, Prince of Persia has been my most anticipated titled for 2008 and I think it'll be my favourite. As of now, my favourite game of 2008 that has been released is Gears of War 2
For me it has to be GTA IV because I simply love the changes the developer made to the game and made it more enjoyable for me. Stuff like car physics, cover system, and other minor changes made it awesome for me. I know many people will disagree with me but it just my opinion. Other games that I found enjoyable are Dead Space and Soul Calibur IV.
Well i acctually didnt buy a lot of this years games but i think if i had to pick a favorite it would be Smash bros i have played it the most but of games i just bought that didnt come out this years its he orange box
