Your favorite JRPGs in this gen?

Mine are

1) Final Fantasy XIII

2) Eternal Sonata

3) Resonance of Fate

4) MagnaCarta II

5) Tales of Vesperia or Blue Dragon

I have not played THAT many, but Tales of Vesperia is the clear winner for me so far.

Haven't played any RPGs this gen, except for Demon Souls... and there's no way in hell that game will be my fav RPG for this gen as I think it's notas good as people say.

EDIT: Damn, VC how could I forget about it!! :x VC for sure!!! :D

Barely scratching the surface, but I have to mention The World Ends with You. An absolutely awesome game all the way through.

Lost Odyssey is the only current gen jrpg I've really enjoyed.

Either Tales of Vesperia or FFXIII, although I didn't find either to be stellar.

Edit: Blue Dragon? Really, TC? I played like 10 hours of it and couldn't force myself to push any further.

Persona 3 FES, Persona 4, Valkyria Chronicles and Lost Odyssey. Both Persona games come out during this gen so think they count.

If Persona 3 and 4 count those two.

Ar Tonelico Qoga! the best JRPG to come out this year!

Does Valkyria Chronicles count? If it does then I choose that. If not then it's definitely Tales of Vesperia. MrSelf-Destruct

It has better characters than most of the "pretty" games I've played and you don't even have to do the sidequests(though aside from the money and a few weapons the main reason you do them is the awesome banter between characters).:P

Not to mention the soundtrack is AMAZING!:shock: Song of the Ancients& Ashes of Dreams are two of the most beautiful and amazing songs I've ever heard in a game.:D

the 2 that REALLY stand out would be NIER, Pokemon black and valkyria chronicals.

black and valkyria chronicals are outstanding, and NIER is great. there's something magical about NIER :)

the graphics are pretty dated, yes. but about the reviews, most of them are bad. it may be the most underrated game this generation. in particular, the gamespot review is extremely bad.

I enjoyed what I played of Lost Odessey and Eternal Sonata, though, and I want to finish them. :)

yeah, tis a shame. well it did sell a little over 600,000, so it was a success at least :P

I just purchased Final Fantasy XIII and Lost Odyssey, we'll see how that goes. Of the ones I've played, I'd say Dragon Quest IX and Pokemon.

The only major flaw in Lost Odyssey is that your party is pretty much pre-determined.
