Recently, many interviews and articles regarding the long-awaited PS3 exclusive, MGS4, have been released, hyping it into becoming one of the greatest games of 2008. Along with them, the region-based boxarts have also been unveiled. Make your pick as the best MGS4 boxart!

Can't see the EU one but the NA box art will have to grow on me :(

The U.S. boxart doesn't look bad, but it'd be cool to actually have some more "art".

I believe the reason Hideo Kojima settled with the "realistic CGI" Old Snake Face Portrait for the NA boxart is due to Japan's conception that North America prefers Realistic over Artistic Beauty (Just look at most of Western current-gen releases : they all opt for realism). He isn't wrong in thimking so though. The only thing he might have missed when settling on a boxart design is that most consumers who will purchase MGS4 are probably long-time followers of the franchise, and have grown accustomed to the "japanese" style from the past series.

It's also a way to attract potential new fans to the franchise with this final chapter. At least it would look great on the shelf, from the perspective of your american jock walking into his local game store.

I think it could do pretty good with the NA box art because all of us MGS fans will already buy it whether or not the box art looks like crap but the casual gamer who knows nothign abotu the game will just see the box art and think woah that looks cool look at those graphics! instead of thinking.. wtf that must be some weird japanese game if they saw those other boxarts.. believe me ive seen people do that do that kind of stupid stuff

NA-trying way to hard to connect with the cliche badass seeking American but fails because Snake looks more like he's deciding which topping to put on his hotdog rather than how to take down a metal gear.

Europe- most resonable one. Nice artwork with a modest color scheme, however, like with the Japanese one, the title on the side makes it look very dated seeming like it would get lost on a shelf.

But I thought the european one was the Japanese one, oh well. The one with the light orange, not the blasting in your face vice city orange.

God dammit, I was happy that it was going to be a cover similar to that of Sons of Liberty, and not the crappy Snake Eater one. I absolutely hate CGI cover art, and now a game that I thought was going to have a good art, turns out to be crappy?

I'm going down to EB games tomorrow and cancelling my pre-order; f***k it I'll import the Euro or Japanese version.

Wow, the Europe and Japan so pwn the NA version box.

Both of those two have more a MGS-feel of art style this the american-version.

I like box arts, so to me, it means the world. Just like everytime I look at the Sons of Liberty box-art I get this feeling of the game being full of win.

The feeling when I see the box art is "DURRRRFFFFF DIS IS FOR DA NORRZZZ AMERIKANSZZZZ DURRFFF".

Maybe it's because I appriciate an honest effort in making something over a silly rendered CGI?

Dam I'm pissed, if the LE has a different box art, I'll pay that extra amount just to get it.

Lol I prefer the EU version also I think LE might have a different box art. We just got to wait and see.

You also no clue as to what I am trying to get at. I never said anything it not requiring effort, get it straight, I only said it failed in contrast with the others and with my expictations.

I like covers that are visually unique, that isn't visually unique.

The NA cover is the most impressive. It is a prime example of a very important element of cover art - IMPACT! It feels like the emotion in his face has substance that will punch it's way right out of the box. Nice Kojima, nicely done.

The Japanese and European covers really aren't that different from each other. The same illustration just with slightly different color hues.
