What game setting had you in awed that you can personally relate to, maybe it captured the mood of your city or country or reminds you of child hood memories.

I fell in love with the small town Pacific Northwest setting in Alan Wake. Living in CA myself and being an outdoors person with forests and lakes which the game captured perfectly. Always passing by small wooded towns by the lake and stopping for bait and refreshments. They captured it perfectly with radio channels and small town residents. I did as much exploring as I can in the game, every nook and cranny, despite the little daytime chapters available in the game and the linear paths. To bad we'll never get part 2

Alan Wake was good. I would've loved to actually be able to explore the area as was originally intended.

A lot of the big shooters are always set in real places so I guess some count.

I like the games that take me back to another time and place. Like I often thought if Paris was really like it felt in Ass Creed: Unity. Anyone live in Paris that could match up anything today and guage the accuracy??

Some of my more recent experiences involved playing Kirby Triple Deluxe in 3D mode. I was so amazed getting to experience Kirby in 3D, it just blew my mind. My other was getting lost in Pikmin 3s environments. From the gameplay to the details it had me geeking for joy. Also the touch feature had me immersed and felt like i had more control then ever. I got lost in Splatoon also, i fantasized about becoming a Squid and living in their world through reincarnation, i felt one with the Squids and wanted to train hard so i could defend my clan from the Octolings.

Crysis. Tropics. Reminds me of relatives provinces which I visited when I was younger.

Haven't really played the original Far Cry tho.

I won't get all religious, but I will say I am a Christian, and I've had some very moving moments while looking out on coastlines. In Dark Souls 2, when I first stepped out into Majula, saw the sun and the beautiful water, I was stunned to say the least, and the calming music made it even better, it all really brought me back.
