Your most dissapointing game of 2008

my top 5 most dissapointing games are

-Gears of war 2, its got a very great story, better graphics than the first, and a good addition of portable shields... but that doesnt save it from its horrible online experiences. i clearly anticipated this games multiplayer and waiting about 10-30 minutes for a match that lags bad clearly doesnt go with me

-Grand Theft Auto 4, my most anticipated game even back from 06, the main reason why i bought a 360(then a PS3 due to the fact that the 360's reliability sucked back then) but this game lacked the content of what made the previous installations fun, plus a VERY broken multiplayer from my experiences that the game would just be better without multiplayer

-Spore, due to the fact that how many people hyped it, it got me to hype it too. so i tried it out from a friend and i gave up forcing myself to play it after the first level

-Need for Speed Undercover, i am (well was) a huge NFS fan, and EA said that they were gonna return to the roots with undercover, because people didnt like prostreet... it was worse than Prostreet

-Guitar Hero: World Tour, i hyped that game alot because i absolutely loved the 3rd one. i thought it would be rock band, just 10x better... it turned out to have an horrible setlist(for my taste of music) and i just went with rock band 2 right after seeing the games setlist

GTA4... dont get me wrong i still love this game, but the hype i gave it clearly it didnt live up to it... offering a horrible online service where i nearly broke my router cuz i was pissed off at the constant disconnection and Lag it had.... and also it was missing stuff that i really looked forward to

That sounds great... I'm dying to try that game out.

GTA 4: I probably wouldn't have had as much of a problem with it except that the characters were absolutely terrible. I know that the characters aren't really the main draw of the series but Niko is probably the worst character in video game history.

Far Cry 2: Enemies with x-ray vision in a game that claimed to be realistic is total crap. Besides the visuals, Far Cry 1 was far superior in every way even with the mutants.

I'd still give GTA 4 an 8/10 but it wasn't the 10/10 masterpiece that many claimed it was.

Far Cry 2 gets a 5/10, I mean, come on.

Awesome job with the multiplayer Epic!!! Their netcode was written by monkeys, it seems.

Alone in the Dark and Far Cry 2

It wasn't the whole game that was dissapointing, but it was the lack of a survival horror aspect(and "scariest game ever" promise by EA Redwood) in Dead Space. The game was good, with very good controls and great sound and graphics, and it was fun. But it wasn't about surivival like Silent Hill or Resident Evil. This was probably intentional by EA, to make it accessible as possible.

GTA4 took the gameplay of GTA itself to new heights, but I eventually became dissapointed by the relative lack of customization for Niko, and the unfriendliness of the replay system. It was a hassle to get body armor and essential weapons, and baby-sitting the side characters was just stupid for the flow of the game.

I was dissapointed in MGS4's finale. The story leading up to it seemed nearly perfect, but the ending could have been handeled better. I also wish the battlefield enviorments had been around in the game for more than just two Acts.

So I guess no game was entirely dissapointing, just certain aspects that I found important.

Seriously, a beautiful sidescroller that is part of a AAA franchise. And it was a 7.5 at best.
