Simple as that, whats your opinion on the game?

Mine? Pleased. I thought it was great.

Lengthy campaign, great customization, fun fights with significantly improved hit box/accuracy in fights.

My only complaint is the significant lack of content when compared to MH Freedom Unite.. a freaking handheld game.

Tri has atleast 1/4 the armors and 1/2 the weapons Freedom: Unite had. Ouch...

Im sure Capcom are doing DLC for Monster Hunter Tri so that might change.

the reason why half of the weapons are not there is probably a marketing ploy to sell monster hunter 3 G

Being my first MH experience, I must say I was sucked in immediately. There's just so much put into it. And while I'm not very far in, ( I haven't even tried the online yet) I just did the first Great Jaggi quest and I must say it was hugely exhilarating and satisfying crushing its head with the good ole hammer.

One of the best games this gen. The myriad of monster content more than makes up for the lacking armors.

They should have made MH3 more noob friendly like WoW. I died too much. It's still an excellent game though.

This IS the most noob friendly MH to date. My advice?

Don't get hit

Hit it til it dies

Those are the rules of MH

Good game, but I returned it to Gamefly after playing for a while because I decided I didn't want to sink countless hours into it. I have other games I'm playing, heh.

The solo campaign is fun, but doesn't compare to the online, it's too fun.

I played the demo. It was tough and unforgiving. The game hated my guts. But it was crazy exciting. I never finished the second mission.

I love it. An addictive, challenging, yet rewarding time sink that will last me many hours. Just as I expected. In fact, it was the system seller that made me finally buy a Wii. I must say that I am pleased with my decision. I am already falling in love with the little thing and cannot wait to explore more of it's library. I needed something fresh and it is definitely fitting the bill for me.

It's a great game. Seems like a very slow starter (and I'm at the start...) but I can see the possibilities of how fun it'll be once I'm given a bit more freedom (less tutorials, bigger monsters, ya know crap like that), and once I get a frickin bowgun. I played it for an hour two days ago, was pretty good but a bit boring cuz it was all a long tutorial. Played for a few hours yesterday including some arena play with a friend, which was VERY fun. Little is as satisfying like picking away at the giant monster bit by bit with your friend, then for the killing blow setting a pit trap and wailing on it when it falls in. Played the campaign for a few more hours, it started to get very fun, around the time I could start quests and kill underwater (did the whole Monster Guts collecting quest). After that I switched over to Demon's Souls, but not because the game was bad, I just really wanted to play DS.

So it's a good game so far, and as things open up and I start upgrading and all that stuff it'll become a great game. It's gonna be very addictive.

Or read the manual/use the online wiki for help.

Many do.

Whaaaaaat? you return a game you like and find countless of hours/value in??? sounds like a very bad move if you ask me.

So you preffer games at full price and you beat them in 4-8hours?

Not the most. Freedom Unite is more hardcore-centric. Also, Shiren on both the Wii and DS. Possibly also Baroque. But yes, barring several games, MHTri is pretty hardcore.

I want to give it a try, but on the other hand I find monster hunter as a series just utterly boring and unsatisfying. And gameplay video of the combat doesn't change that for me. It comes off as something clunky and counter-intuitive. So I'll pass, but fellow GUFU members give the game a ton of praise. So I might consider trying it.

Seems like your opinion wont change, its simply not your taste.

But if you are curious about it Id say give it a rent, its quality is considerably improved from previous installments and its considerably more noob friendly.

Pure epic win. One of the best games on this gen. Played the crap out of it this week, now Hunter Rank 19 and deep into rank 4 on single player. Gonna take a few days break though, I don't wanna wear it out.

I've never played it, but I can say that the combat looks awful.
