ACTIVISION have become increasingly worse and worse over the years, and this year they just keep fostering ill will.
From announcing :
Day One Map Packs for MW2! (Thanks for having content that should be in the game),
Raising the Price of MW2 for to $90 U.S. for Europeans/UK gamers,
Raising the Price of MW2 for PC gamers to $60.
Stealing EA RTS legends,
Starcraft getting divided into 3 games,
Starcraft removiing LAN Support,
ACTIVISION Suing BRUTAL LEGEND Creators, and trying to prevent BRUTAL from coming out this year (Turns out Tim Schaffer refused to make Brutal Legends a Guitar Hero Platformer, so ACTI cut them...), ,
GUITAR HERO being milked and milked to death, not to mention the lack of DLC support, and overpriced DLC for unknown bands compared to Rockband/Singstar/Karoake, etc.
Bandhero? Need I say more...?
There is more, but no point in ranting all day. :)
---------
It goes on and on with ACTIVISION.
I try NOT to buy ANYTHING of theirs at this point.
I am still wanting ONLY MW2 and Starcraft II, but anything else, they are cut off. I am thinking of buying MW2 used as well.
Not at all. If i was then i would have actually bashed them :/They make some of the best games out? Aside from releasing a ton of GH stuff I think they're all right. The only reason they get bashed is cuz they're on top of the competition. Your trying to start a bashing thread right?

They are company that puts out some product that I like. I'm not a fan of their business practices, but I'm not at the point of boycott. I plan to rent MW2 and I stopped playing Guitar hero quite aways back. Starcraft 2 will get my money though.
Overall, I feel about them they way I feel about all large corporations, I don't trust them and when I have to deal with them it's on my terms.
They have taken their BS too far. There really isn't anything besides MW2 I want from them and even that I will buy 2nd hand. Activision can go to hell if they think I'm going to give them a penny of mine.

Don't worry, UK gamers are European gamers too. You can save yourself those extra keystrokes the next time. :P
I think they are fine. I am not for or against them. The obviously make games people like to become the largest 3rd party dev. I did not see one hate thread targeting just Activision till they said they may drop the PSP and PS3. The PS3 is the hardest to devlope for and most costly. Also Activision had to pay $500 million just in last years royalties to Sony. Also the PS3 has the lowest software sales of the consoles and the PSP has the lowest of the handhelds. I think Activision think tank came to the conclusion that it may be better for them to make 360/PC games like many other devs have done. Also the money they save they can invest in new games.rybe1025
Maybe you missed out at other sites, but that BRUTAL LEGEND THING is BS...In fact Subrosian had a Activision Thread never mentioning that PS3 thing, I forgot about it in my post in fact (above.)
I also said the same kind of thing last gen about EA, but we consumers should at least take notice, if you didn't notice until the SONY thing, that's fine. But I've had issues with ACTI far before, and I made threads in early 2008 about GH's milkage, etc.
As far as NEG. Publicity, this isn't a great year for them, as far as a $$$ year, it's probably going to be fantastic.
They don't hesitate to milk the hell out of anything. Really, I've never seen any company take such advantage of it. Just imagine when Halo was still massive back in the day. They could've made tons of Halo spin-offs and made tons of money, but Bungie seemed to keep up the quality, according to critics, for the six years. They could've easily gotten away with so much more.DeathScape666...and that's why Bungie are awesome. They don't chug out sequel after sequel to milk as much money out of it.

As much as I wanted to do that, I had about 4 posters last time posting UK sales numbers and claiming they were basically European Numbers, so I didn't want a 4 page thread about that again, lol. :)
I'm no fan of Activision right now for two big reasons. The only reason I'm not boycotting is Ultimate Alliance 2
1. They threaten to stop producing for the PS3.
2. Suing EA to stop the release of a game they CHOSE not to produce.

americans tend to like the british more than the rest of europe (the brits prefer america to europe too!), so we get special attention on an american based website.
As for activision i don't like them at all, if they didn't own blizzard then i probably wouldn't buy any of their stuff (my brother buy's call of dutys)
Honestly I don't really like them but I'm not going to rag on them either. I'm nat a fan of their business ethic but I don't buy any of there games so I'm not really urged to hate them. Their stupid pricing and Sony threatening however is rather annoying. Now people won't shut up about it.

Link me up next time that happens, that thread you speak of sounds like fun.
