your opinion on the PS3 vs XBOX360 - owner of both only please

Hi,

I m undecided on which console to buy, i do not play online and play only hockey, baseball and boxing. Graphics are important to me. So far, I get opinions on die hard fans of Xbox 360 and PS3. I would like to have the opinion of players who own both or have at least played sports game on both and would like to know what you suggest...and what about the FPS (30 vs 60) does it affect sports game enough to choose a console over the other...

If you're a sports person then 360 is definitely the way to go as of right now, you can see the difference in fps, as far as other games go the graphics are pretty much equal. PS3 will probably have 60 fps in sports games next year if you want to wait that long. As far as reliability I've had one red ring on my 360 and got that replaced and my HDMI port went out on my PS3, and I've had that replaced, so in my experience they both broke, but overall I'd go with the console that has more games that interest you besides the sports games...

360 is the better system ATM and probably will be for some time. I would wait and see if there is another price drop if I were you. Why pay $499/$599 when you can pay $399 and upgrade your HDD later?

360 has the better sports games...but THE SHOW is the better baseball game this year IMHO. I enjoy both systems, but most of the multiplat sports games look much better on the 360 (e.g., Madden, NCAA, Tiger).chumpion69

!00% Agreed. I only have 3 games for my ps3 butMLB TheShowis the one I play the most. that game owns. As far as recomending a system I would say get a 360 for the current superior library.

It all depends. Unless you're sitting there playing them both at the same time, you're probably not going to feel slighted playing Madden 08 on the PS3. I prefer the layout of the PS3 controller for sports games. Always have. 360 has the much better online support, though. At the same time you have to pay for it on a yearly basis.

Otherwise, my 360 has died three times since I bought it in January of 2005 and I got the PS3 at launch and have had no problems with it, whatsoever. I would say if you're more into shooters, go with the 360. The only really good exclusive games the console has (or has coming in the next few weeks) are all shooters, i.e.: Gears of War, BioShock, Halo 3, etc. Dead Rising is a fun game, also.

yep and thats the 360, it should come with2 games a wired controller and 512 mb save card too for 270 bucks.

If I were you I would ask BioshockOwnz and Heil68. They are the only posters that I know that have both and will give you an unbiased opinion... :shock:

I prefer my PS3, because of Bluray movies and its reliability. I have more games for my 360 though.SolidSnake35

Yea, I PS2'ed it up last gen also. For some funky reason cows and sony think Im 1 of the 100 million thats going to purchase a PS3 with a price drop... :shock:
