I don't understand why people think crysis, or mass effect, or bioshock will be game of the year? Wouldn't you have had to play the game first to know if it's worthy of that or not?

They're just taking what they have seen/read and taking a guess, is it really such a crime?  

It'll be either:

• Mass Effect 
• Crysis
• Bioshock
• Halo 3
• MP3

IMO Bioshock, Nintendo's Big 3, The Darkness, Starcraft 2, or Crysis (I doubt Halo 3 will win it it never won GOTY yet) I put these games since I'm anticipating them.Nintendo_Ownes7

I doubt Starcraft 2 is coming out this year.

My pick is Crysis. It's looks aren't in question.

But I'm also really excited about some of the changes it's bringing to the modern FPS; dynamic story, free roaming and customisation.

Mass Effect

or either of the Civ 4 or Mediaval 2 Expansion packs.

*These will be My game of the Year Awards.  No web site will tell me different.

I lost all faith in Yearly Awards when Saving Private Ryan lost to that awful rendition of Shakespeare in Love back in '98.

Possible candidates from each system based on what i've seen:

PC:  Crysis

Xbox 360:  Mass Effect, Halo 3 (based on hype)

Nintendo Wii:  Super Mario Galaxy

Playstation 3:  Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid 4.
