in any game?

i hate the idea. especially in halo.

i mean first of all if you encounter an emeny running around the corner you might get a couple of shots off on him. However you basically just wasted ammo. he is going to recharge

if there was no recharging health. your enemy would have to go and pickup a health pack and your first shots would have counted.

just my thoughts

what are yours?

Maybe you could, you know... Adapt your strategy to compensate for recharging health?

I get annoyed playing a game where my health is extremely low and the weakest of enemies could kill me.

Recharging health horrible, recharging shield is fine. I've readin a bunch of magazines talking about how Halo CErevolutionized the gaming world with the recharging health, but they didn't. There was a health bar, and a shield bar, and the shield would recharge and not the health. I totally agree with the poster. I hate getting into a battle with someone and they run off and recharge, then its like nothing ever happened. I halo CE you might not die after being in a battle, but you were more than likely weakened, so if you got into another battle with someone, they would have an advantage, and you would have to show your true skill as a player, rather than let your shield recharge and start off fresh again. The health in CE was very strategic to, there wasn't much, and if you picked it up, you were vulnerable for a little bit. Personally I think thats an awesome idea, they had it right with a lot of ideas, and now they are running in the wrong direction.

it makes the game less frustrating, imagine playing any game on hardest difficulty (e.g. cod2) with no health recharge

I hate it.

But I don't really bother complaining about it, nearly every game has it now.

In some games, such as Halo and Crysis I could understand, cause you could say the suit regenerates health. How can you explain Rainbow Six Vegas or Call of Duty?

Minor detail that's not worth complaining about. As long as the games play good, then that's fine.

It makes sense in Halo as it has the sheild in all but in CoD and Gears come on man. People just don't heal like Wolverine.

Depends. Recharging health changes the pacing of online competitive play quite a bit. So much so that the entire COD community almost hunted down Infinity Ward after COD2 was released on the PC.

Recharging health + checkpoints >>>> quicksaves.

The old institution of quicksaving pretty much took all challenge out of the game and replaced it with tedium.

It makes sense in Halo as it has the sheild in all but in CoD and Gears come on man. People just don't heal like Wolverine.Blackbond

People also don't instaheal from bullet wounds by running across a first aid kit.

But they heal by running over a red plus sign.

I think Far Cry 2 has the best heal system.

It should be rechargable to a certain point (example: 30%) for the rest you would need medpacks. I dislike it's called health anyway. If you kick a perfectly healthy puppy, he's dead. If you kick a half-dead Rhandy Couture, nothing happens. You might even break your leg. They should call it stamina or something.

Its fine as long as it stays in games like halo and crysis where it makes sense. Not like in call of duty "oh i just took 5 bullets in my head point blank il just hide in the corner so i can recharge" that just dosen't make any sense.

this gives halo the sense of speed that is addicting. At first it is frusterating but halo makes itself 'feel' fast paced despite being shown at 30 fps and having elements of a tactical shooter
