your top 3 most hated genres

1. fighters (dumbest genre ever no experience at all to it just mindless fights with dial a combo)

2. sports (almost as dumb as fighters but they do have their moments but they just over saturate the market with them so it makes them stale since they just roster updates)

3. racing (i really dont hate this genre it just like sports games its real stagnant i mean how many games can you play where you drive cars around a track it just gets real old, usually 1 racer GT5 is all i will get)

I only have 2:

JRPGs- I love the really outstanding ones, but most seem like total cookiecutter games.

Fighters- Other than SSB they are all too complex for me. I want a game me and my buddies can pick up and play, not something I need to study 4 hours a day to be able to be able to do anything other than button mash.

Calling the Fighting-genre dumb is automatic failure.

I myself can't stand jrpgs. Except gor Chrono Trigger, which is one of the best games ever.

yeah, gotta agree with u.

sports are generally dumb (eg. EA and some 2k Sports titles), but there are games that really stand out from the srowd and arevery entertaining for fans of the sport or just casual moochers. For example Rockstar : table tennis, fast and fun gameplay you can pick up the controls in about a minute. NBA Street vol1 - homecourt, getting those gamebreakers just right is so much better than the pooey MK button combos. Pro Evolution Soccer, the world's favorite footy/soccer game that never looses touch its market.

I have to agree with fighters though, i just don't see the appeal of Tekken and Street Fighter anymore. JRPGS are a bit of a waste of time also, always the same plot, generic characters and over-exagerated expressions and dialouge we all know will feature in this type of game. Platformers based on movies are a pet loathe of mine, so much money and time potentially talented developers waste on crummy second rate franchis games that we all know will end up in the pre-owned bin at GAME or EB or Gamestation the next month.

We thinX the only reason you guys hate the sports games are because you suck at the sports in Our The real life setting, and don't wish to suX in the video games settings. You aslo are laughed at by Our The Jocks tbqh imo's.

2. Vehicle combat, I hate being restricted to vechiles (I prefer to go on foot, as i suck at driving)

JRPG - I've tried to play these over and over again, but I always just end up being bored.

2d fighting - I really haven't seen an improvement on this genre since the street fighter days.

Platform - Outside of a few games like mario I've never really been a huge fan of platform games.

I also dislike those 3 genres simply because they're so repetative.

Any RPG with turn based combat.

RTS

Nintendo

1. Stealth Games: Slow pacing, little action, army clown stories.

2.Simulated Racing Games: Not much fun to play.

3.Sims Games: Who wants to worry about getting the character to pee and eat? What's fun about that?

Puzzle, casual? There is more to the genre than Tetris you know. Have a blast at Meteos or Picross DS and call them 'casual'. Also Guitar Hero is dreadful in my opinion, not only does it allow silly teenage males to think they can play guitar, but it is also detrimental to video-games because it focusses on the replication of music, as opposed to the creation of music.

MMORPG - grinding sucks

Sim Racers - driving and not crashing sucks

JRPGs - why do they all stand in front of the monsters?

I don't hate any genres, these are just my least likeable:

1) Music/Rhythm- The games are boring. You push a freakin button everytime it appears on the screen. Wow, exciting? /sarcasm. I guess it's for people who can't dance, sing, or play a musical istrument but are too lazy to learn how to....

2) Sports Sim- These games are okay, it's just they rehash the hell out of em by making little changes every year they come out with a new game. Arcade sports games like NBA Street or NFL Blitz are games I like to play, because they're not too realisitic. Sports Sims keep you grounded in reality, and I don't want that when I'm playing video games.

3) Shooters- There are too many of these. Thank GOD, there are developers outside of the states that are more focused on other genres.

Racing (only games I have played that I like is the Gran Turismo series and Need for Speed series)

Fighting (Tekken is my favorite series....I hope they release another Bushido Blade)

Sports (I can play boxing and football, but all else sucks to me)

I don't "hate" any of these genre, they are just my least favorite of all genre.

3 rhythm games: ive always found them to be repetitive.....and on a personal note, i suck at them. i have no rhythm

I probably feel the same way about you. There are exceptions to those rules of course. I enjoy FPS like Deus Ex and action/adventures like Shenmue. It's the ones that only focus on shooting or slashing that I do not enjoy.

3. Modern JRPG's - ....WTF happened? This use to be the hands down greatest genre ever period, and now it's just crud with broken gameplay. This genre needs to take the hint that it just can't work in 3D and in 3rd person since it's built with 2D game mechanics. Keep it overhead, side-scrolling, or paroama effect because THAT's the way the genre is done. Also could this genre please stop with the n00bness it now contains?

2. WRPG's - The only one I've ever enjoyed is Deus Ex, I'm sorry but this genre is just so time consuming, I really don't care about accomplishing a bunch of small tasks.

1. Action *not "hard-action" like Devil May Cry* This genre has no skill, no depth,no anything. I'm talking about games were you just wander killing things for no reason. Crud like Syphon Filter, Max Payne, etc. Just something you wander around a level killing things for no reason and without skill.

Fighting and RPG`s are boring but i don´t hate them.

I tend to stay away from most of the Japanese games also. (most of them)

1: RPGs I never liked Final Fantasy or KOTOR or any of those RPGs or JRPGs :)

2: I don't like racers that much only like a few..Like Burnout

3:Music games or whatever the genre is called:D
