yeah, i read wat u wrote on the wii boards. its too indistinguishable to b done by accident. its a small thing, but i dnt like the way they've done it. its not jst a sound u can use, it has great meaning and is a great symbol of islam. they shldnt have used it in the current political climate. they had a choice of infinite things they cud have used. i wont be surprised if we hear more of this. but the game isnt popular enough for many people to realise, and the sound may b confined to one level of the game.Maazio
agree...i feel the same

Hmm I see what you mean... we'll just have to wait and see if it stops there...
Anyway, other than that the game is looking great... You people better buy it, as I want more games like this on the Wii... If not, then... it won't bode well for youse:twisted:Is there any way to watch this in SD? Because when I press "Watch this in SD" it brings up some Disney crap.

i know ur joking StealthSting, but watch how u phrase ur posts. theres no point in introducing such a taste to a gaming forum, especially gamespot, which has many muslim gamers. it takes one person to get offended, and sumthing unwanted starts.

Believe me that wasn't even a joke or a sentence directed toward any religion... quite in fact, you can definitely expect of me to stay very far away from such topics or of insulting peoples belief's... I'm just not that kind of person...

If I were a muslim, I think I would find monkeys holding skulls dancing around a treasure surronded by lava with Allahu Akbar in the background very offensive.

i can understand why u say that, i dont like it either. but i doubt a petition will take us far by any account. best is to ignore it. it is disrespectful. a petition wud draw attention to it and aggrevate a currently small thing. if u dnt like it, dnt buy the game. i know im not buying it now. 95% of the population tht plays the game wont realise it. 70% of the people who are left wont care. its not worth the hassle. it shud best be ignored.
it was an error on their part, it wont be in the final version. confirmed by capcomNorthlandMan

What does "Alloha Akbar" have to do with muslims? Its just Arabic for "God is good". A christian has equal right to be offended. Of course, WHO IN GOD'S NAME (Totally lame pun) would be offended over "god is good".i was offended by this, i am a Muslim too. Their like savages running around looking like idiots saying 'Allahou Akbar'. I think its a huge disrespect, but it was probably unintentional, just like the Fire temple in OoT.HaziqonfireChristians have every right to be equalyl offended then. They both have the same god.

Of course they do -- But one thing that should be realized is that Islam is the most practiced religion in the WORLD -- MANY Muslims will be upset by it -- its just like if the game had people dancing around like idiots, singing a hymn perhaps. Its offensive and does not need to be in the game.
I dont understand why capcom couldn't have just used some generic gibberish besides using a Religious phrase.

Are you saying all religions should be offended equally? How about not being offended at all? Everyone wins.

Its not "muslims" that should be offended then, its "arabic people". If you want to use denomination, then Christians and Muslims are technically the same, and both have equal rights to be upset over this.[QUOTE="Maazio"][QUOTE="Eponique"]Someone should really start a petition.Eponique

If you want to use denomination, then Christians and Muslims are technically the same, and both have equal rights to be upset over this.this argument need not go any further and serves no purpos. the word Allah-u-Akbar are more than merely words in arabic. it is the foundation of islam and a symbol of the religion. an arabic speaking member of any other religion is not likely to use that phrase. "Allah" is the muslim word for god, not the arabic word. it is used throughout muslim texts and cultures as the word for god. hence, although the literal meaning into english translates into "God is Greatest", it is specific to muslims. this is why muslims will get more offended than christians and jews who believe in the same god. the phrase applies specifically for muslims.
i hope that answers ur curiosity

Fine, they're offended as well. The problem is now WORSE.
This isn't the first time that something like this has been done by Capcom or even Nintendo. I remember the OOT Goron Fire Temple sounds.
Also I remember the picture of the door in DMC3 which shows a muslim symbol on a door which leads to a particularly nasty place. (P.S. If you don't know what I'm talking about don't ask, suffice to say I saw the pics of the offending door in question in a forum on 1UP and it's as clear as daylight.)

Sure is, I just hate it when individual groups internalize stuff and then cry to their mommies about prejudice in the world. Ugh.Please Log In to post.
