um, its just a guy playing with the mod editor right?ChinoJamesKeene
The 3rd link is a mod project that is trying to recreate a zelda game within cryengine 2. They are going for a full blown zelda game.
its a cool mix , but FPS melee is not for me.Sovereignty5
A 3rd person system will probably be implemented within the mod.
i would never, ever, ever want a realistic zelda... why do people think more realistic looking is better..? this should be forbidden by law.Always-Honest
You didn't stop to think that they would create custom models and animations for this? They will probably go in an artful direction with it.
Some of you are so close-minded. :(
this is one of the reasons i love pc`s.....i wish i could make my own mods and stuff....but i need to buy a new pc since mine is like 6 years old...i wonder how hard it is to make a mod >_> at least im knowledgeable in photoshop....maybe that might helpDante2710
Most end-user modding tools (That is not full dev tool suites) require at the very least the ablility to pick up a proprietry scripting language, usually somthing similar to C (Procedural). Modding is VERY different from texture packs/maps/new character models etc. While it does encompass those things, it is also so much more.

Cry Engine 2 does not require you to know C++ or any programming language. The Editor comes with a built in programming machine called flowgraphs. It's very easy to use and learn. I didn't know any programming prior to making maps in Cryengine 2 and I made this map, my 2nd map ever in any editor: http://www.crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=17177
Thats a map. To make any real changes to the engine functions, you will most likley need to know the scripting language.
Also, I said nothig about C++. I said procedural.

However, Java is slow as molacice sliding downhill. In my experience, it is sometimes used for non-reasource consuming tasks in game design, but very rarelly for the important stuff.

my bad, i read it really fast....i would of known making mods would require u to tell that certain "mod" how to react to certain things and what not....but i guess i could always make maps....that seems rather easy[QUOTE="Dante2710"][QUOTE="householdman"][QUOTE="Dante2710"]this is one of the reasons i love pc`s.....i wish i could make my own mods and stuff....but i need to buy a new pc since mine is like 6 years old...i wonder how hard it is to make a mod >_> at least im knowledgeable in photoshop....maybe that might helphouseholdman

ohh i know java is more "object" oriented....which is dealt different when it comes to C++If this ever gets anywere near complete Nintendo will most likely issue them a cease and desist letter.Marka1700
Na I doubt it, they are using Nintys IP so they cannot profit from it, but I'm sure they are perfectly within their legal rights to release a mod online containing the characters, provided they credit Ninty with the creation of the IP.
If you are really good with photoshop, artists are often in demand for mods. Coders, modelers and animators are the positions that are generally most needed though.Wartzayyeah, i could proably make some really good models for mods....but knowing photoshop is kind of like a hobby for me XD

Modder have been hit with these sorts of thing plenty of time in the past. Nintendo are particully picky in this field.

i would like the technology of cryengine2, but it must have a good art-direction. mot tis realistic uninspired bogus, and no, i'm far FROM clos minded. if they mod it, why nod mod it in a good way... looks horrible this way. and you will be surprised at the amount of insecure teenagers that want zelda and mario looking realistic..
