Agree, if true i dont get why didnt they announced this during their conference.

I'm actually thinking this. I have a feeling he just said that stuff so we dont go crazy, but we wont see anything he mentioned for like 3 years.

Agreed. I'm a huge Nintendo fan, but Shigsy just saying "Ya these dudes who made good games years ago are still working for me LOL" is not good enough.

Of course they're making another Mario and Zelda, and the new Pikmin has been suspected for a long, long time. Who the hell thought Nintendo was going to stop making Mario and Zelda games?!?!

This isn't really a surprise.

I agree with this statement. When aren't they making a mario/zelda game? Through each genaration, those are projects that they r always supposedly involved in. So after they fed us the DS version of animal crossing, and they see we don't like it, they quickly announce the games that they are "so hard at work on..." but don't have any media for them. Great ninty, just great. You do not care about ur fans whatsoever!!!!

In the interview, the IGN guy says "Please make SMG2" and Miyamoto replies with "Leave it to me". That doesnt really convince me.

Did Miyamoto really say "leave it to me."? If so, I picture him tearing off his clothes to reveal a superhero suit and then flying away to his lair to start making the game.

well its nice to know they are at least planning to release these games in the future. whats stranger i think ios that fatal frame releases in a couple of weeks and yet theres not even a playable demo

But what I really needed was to see some heavy hitter suprises coming THIS YEAR. I didn't buy a GameCube until the end of lastGen because of this very same problem:

Nintendo consoles go through DROUGHTS where they simply don't get any games. long expanses of time. As of right now, there's no new Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Starfox or any other premiere internal franchise on the agenda other than Animal Crossing coming in 2008.

Unless I'm mistaken.

Understand, while future announcements are nice, it's what I'll have access to SOON that is just as important.

With the 360, I'll have Too Human, Fable 2, Gears 2 and others. THIS year.

With my PS3, I'll have Resistance 2, LBP and others. THIS year.

With my PC, I'll have several options as well. THIS year.

With my Wii? .. .. .......

and therein lies my issue.

New generation. Same as the last generation.
