It's all very atmospheric, and the art certainly gives the game a distinct mood, but it also seems a little too much, given the strangeness of everything else. Without some attachment to reality, the unrelentingly surreal trappings come off as gimmicky.

I thought some games were expected to leave reality behind and allow us to live the most impossible adventures. I guess the Alpha Centauri and Rise of Legends curse strikes again... But Very strange, very surreal setting is listed in The Good list!

Even the club is hard to use well because you have to cock it back with the right mouse button and swing it with the left, a lengthy process that usually sees it smacked out of your hands after you get in a couple of whacks.

That same reviewer gave Mount and Blade a 6.5? Well now it all makes sense. I wrote my own review and gave it a 10 (Zeno Clash, that is). I loved that game to death. The combat wasn't overly complex.. it was a good mix. The world and characters were all very interesting, and I was genuinely intrigued by the story. Not many games do it for me, but Zeno Clash was one of them :)

Definitely good for lems as well as the developer. They need some solid revenue to make more awesome games.

Thats cool, i loved the atmosphere and gameplay in the demo, but like another user said it just didnt click with me. I didnt feel worth the money for me, but for those who will get into it, it will be a great game for you.

I played it on the PC and to be honest, it only barely deserved a 7. While the whole universe was very interesting and it's probably what kept me going, the gameplay was sub-par and just kinda frustrating. The melee combat generally just devolved into running away and swinging at them (hoping you don't get knocked over) and the gunplay was really crap. The guns had terrible aim and they had to reload way too often and took way too long. The story was kinda lacklustre too. They didn't even really explain anything.Quintinius
