People should not be complaining about the price of the ps3 20GB or 60GB when you total the cost plus add-on plus live fee. A 20gb ps3 sounds great in price in comparison.

HD-DVD addon isn't needed for gaming so that price shouldn't be factored in, also lemmings will say they dont need live goldPeople should not be complaining about the price of the ps3 20GB or 60GB when you total the cost plus add-on plus live fee. A 20gb ps3 sounds great in price in comparison.

I think the Zephry shows that options are for kids. 360 was a big mistake for having to many optional add-ons. Zephry is nothing more but a PS3 without a HD player made by Microsoft.shungokustasuPlus it lacks inbuilt wi-fi and a card reader. So much for being "next-gen" lol.

As i said higher up in the thread I don't see the point of a 360 without Live Gold, but most times someone tries to do a price comparison between 360 and ps3 they add in the cost of Gold and the lemmings try to shoot them down saying only silver is necessary and acting like the price of gold is somehow reduced by being only 5 dollars a month.People should not be complaining about the price of the ps3 20GB or 60GB when you total the cost plus add-on plus live fee. Blu-ray is not the future of movies digital distribution is that is why microsoft is adding the bigger HDD and getting more D/L content (movies, map packs, music, IPTV, etc.). As for value I like 360, but to me the Zephyr is not worth the money and neither is the core PS3. Zephyr should of been the premium 360 in the first place. The price should be $400 for Zephyr and $300 for Premium.
As for the $50 for LIVe a year. That is a moot argument since it will cost you more than that for the additional cost in electricity the PS3 will use.

The way I see it MS is adding an HD format to the 360 for only $80 more. Can the PS3 do IPTV? Nope. I have no interest in IPTV so this new model means absolutely jack squat to me. MS is clearly releasing it for the single purpose of adding IPTV since it has zero impact on gaming. I hope they make this clear with the marketting strategy so it doesn't confuse consumers that might not know any better and end up buying one with no intent of getting IPTV. They need to make sure that the Premium is just as much in the light as the Zephyr is. These two units side by side would seem like more of a "choice" then the Core and Premium did.People should not be complaining about the price of the ps3 20GB or 60GB when you total the cost plus add-on plus live fee. How many years did you own your ps2, xbox, ds,.... If you like it, you will probably own it for several years so you are paying "around" $200 over 4-5 years for online.Blu-ray is not the future of movies digital distribution is that is why microsoft is adding the bigger HDD and getting more D/L content (movies, map packs, music, IPTV, etc.). [QUOTE="Goku004"][QUOTE="Cubs360"]I'm taking the Zephyr, its for the hardcore!BgrngodThats one of the problems with this new 360...all of the hardcores than bought the premium 360, sucks for them I guess. Only if they want IPTV. If not, then no problems. Do you or anyone else have news about those rumors about MS working with other companies to put 360s free with ordering IPTV service? That would be awesome. Any updates on that stuff?
360 Premium - $400
Warranty(which I had to use twice) - $40
Quick Play and charge kit - $30
Wireless Headset(bought on ebay) - $40
xbl gold(just for 1 year of service) - $50
Total = $560
I still don't have wi-fi, a web browser, an HD movie format, and am stuck with 20GB of hard drive space that can't be replaced! Not to mention I will (GeOW & Halo 3 without online = :|) have to pay an additional $50 this July for another year of xbl.
As an early adopter of the 360 I have been officially owned!!! :cry:
Damn you Haloooo!!!!!!

Well, the zephyer is suppose to be media centric, otherwise it's almost completely pointless. So to compare the media funcionallity, the price of the xbox360's HD-DVD drive should be added in... Making the elite $680. But to be fair, I'll add the price of a 60GB 2.5inch HDD to the ps3's price which would come out to ~$650 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152506)
The ps3 is stil less expensive...
well the thing is that you are not forced by MS to buy a system that costs $500 no matter what version of their system you choose. In the end what matters most is that you can play the games that are available for that system for as cheap as possible and for 300 bucks you can play a huge library of games whereas with Sony you pay 500, at least, to play a library of games whose superior versions are available on a much cheaper system and whose exclusives arent good enough, or new enough, to justify spending 500 bucks. The new xbox is for tech freaks who think they "need" HDMI and a bigger HDD to enjoy games; but in reality 300 bucks will do the same thing. MS is trying to make money here and making availble various versions of the same thing is going to bring in profits that recoup the losses of the past year.People should not be complaining about the price of the ps3 20GB or 60GB when you total the cost plus add-on plus live fee.
