Very interesting....I am sure we will be seeing more of this at E3. I agree XBLA on the go sounds like a damn fine prospect (if done right of course).
Zune couldve been popular if they properly marketed itFirstDiscoverywell its #2 behind the ipod which is no small feat.

And whats with MSs slowness in the EU market?
I'm guessing this will be a pretty central part of MS's E3 then, mmmm hope they come up with the goods game wise.
The ability to play my XBLA games on the go would be amazing. If the rumors about this device are true (including this one), I'll probably be getting a Zune HD on day one but, it sounds a little too good to be true. All these rumors could just be setting us up for a huge disappointment when MS actually reveals the Zune HD, should it differ from what has previously been reported.
Nevertheless, it does sound like an awesome idea and an even more awesome handheld. Here's hoping it lives up to everyone's lofty expectations.

Unless youre thinking of games, the EU market is for most cases every bit as big if not bigger than the US. Films, music, electronics, you name it. iPods are an international pandemic (yes pandemic, we need to stop lowering humanity's standards), even in Japan, MS have everything to play for.
I'm holding off on buying another iPod cause I wanna hear about this. If this thing allows me to play XBLA games on the go then I may just get this instead.

Being able to play your XBLA games sounds very cool feature, but it's gonna need a lot more than that, like proper controls, good display and like someone mentioned, battery life. Hope they aren't really planning to call it Zune HD tho.mr_mozilla
The displays are already top notch, I doubt the screen will be degraded.
[QUOTE="omgimba"]That is what I want...MS has until E3 to give me what I want or I buy an Iphone I know I will get flamed for this but I wish to GOD I never bought this POS iPhone. I think they have an app for me smashing it. It's problems are even more compounded by ATT....ugh. But I know I am in the minority on this....1 more year until I get a real phone again. It looks like an Iphone rival at best. Doubt it will achieve being ny kind of rival.

The Zune is great...But whenever I play games on it the battery life drains and quick. I get like an hour of game play with music playing before the batt dies. With how powerful the Zune handheld would have to be the battery life does not sound like it would be to great. I don't really care about a Zune handheld, I want a Zune cell phone.HarlockJC
Because GOD won't let MS use a different battery....

I may be going out on the limb here, but I am betting that my 80 gig Zune already has the top of the line battery. They could make the batt bigger. But the 80 gig is already about half the size of the DS lite and that is without playing games.i assume zune's have online capabilities already right? (ive never owned one)kidcool189All Zune's have Wi-Fi built in for player to player sharing, access to the online marketplace and wireless syncing with your PC.

Yes, Zunes are already online capable.
There are lots of features on it that are ready to go once MS pulls the trigger on this cross-platform initiative:
So yeah, it'd be interesting to see how well they can pull it all off.
So, it would require a 360 to get the full experience?loco145I was wondering if they are going to charge any fees for this like they do on 360. I don't like fees

The only fees associated with Zune are ala carte with MS points or a subscription of 15/mo for unlimited downloads.
Currently, I can handle all the funcitonality from the Zune itself or from the PC. 360 isn't required.

I didn't know the Zune could do all these things. My mom and sister have one but they don't use it to this extent. If this new Zune can pull of XBL integration well then I'll definately get this over the iPod Touch.[QUOTE="clubsammich91"]That's great! Now my Zune can play games too!? Oh wait I have an ipod like the rest of the world.HarlockJCThe Zune can already play games, I play a few of them offten. The Zune is also much better than the ipod.
agree'd the zune is amazing.
i'm with you on the zune phone as well. i'm waiting for the zune phone to come out, i'll pass on the zune HD, not gonna buy an iPhone though

Yep, that's why I have one. :D And I've been considering hopping over to the dark side once again (owned an iPod once...it broke and I've sworn off all things Apple since then) by getting an iPod touch but if the rumors on the Zune HD are to be believed, I'll just wait and get that instead.meh console business is one thing, but handheld market i just dont see MS succeeding in a resonable time frame. Besides the PSP is probably the same approach MS would take in terms of development alot of power, but no games, and we all saw how that went. Now with Sony and Nintendo both having a commanding share of the market who will buy an MS based handheld? Im a big MS supporter, but heck even i wouldnt buy it. I dont like handhelds at all though.

There are lots of features on it that are ready to go once MS pulls the trigger on this cross-platform initiative:
- Zune cards, like gamerscore cards in the Zune social
- Achievement-like medals
- I linked my Zune ID to my gamertag so I can manager my XBL and Zune friends from one place
- I can already play games on my Zune
- MS points appear in both the Zune and XBL marketplaces
So yeah, it'd be interesting to see how well they can pull it all off.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for. Mostly fo XBLAr games but If I get music on Zune and able to play it on my 360 as Custom Soundtracks, vids on the 360 to Zune then I'm sold. For the Zune owners: How well does it organize podcasts. This is pretty much the only thing that keeps me using the ipod. As muc has I hate, HATE Itunes, it's pretty damn easy to subscribe to my podcasts..And good alternatives? It would be nice if it were linux compatible also. I've been wanting to convert my bedroom PC to linux but Itunes no worky in linux.

Totally with you on that. Everyone I know who's had an iPod had one atleast break including myself but I hear the iTouch is pretty reliable. As far as Zune's I know of 4 people and so far so good. My sister uses hers to death and there is really no hick-ups.Yes, Zunes are already online capable.
