You no longer get the  emote by using 8). Now, you use ": cool :" (remove the spaces).
Thoughts?
And so GS continues to change and update useless s*** instead of fixing s*** that actually matters, like they styIe and cIass issues.

Earlier today I was making a post and used the 8), and when it wouldn't show up I immediately tried  since it was suggested in the thread down in Site Enhancements & Feedback (I'm not using the WYSIWYG editor). I was surprised that they changed it, mainly because now it leaves a lot of 8) in its wake. In the end though, I think it was the right decision to change it.MudkipMaster30I agree.
You know, if you just complain when they don't do EXACTLY what you want, it's going to make the admins feel their users are ungrateful, to be honest. While I do wish other things were done, it's good to see these small advances, because it shows they're listening. And so GS continues to change and update useless s*** instead of fixing s*** that actually matters, like they styIe and cIass issues.

[QUOTE="horgen123"]Ah come on, they need to announce this way more. How am I supposed to know this when I am not using the editor? Racer_XLRIndeed. I don't check the community blog as much as I used to, but it would've nice to at least let people know about it. It's not even mentioned by Jody in the thread about the emote at the EF board...

Happy about it, GS still needs more smilies, though. I remember a thread about it here, and I don't know if we could bump this one or not, I know bumping old threads isn't allowed on the main forums, though. You no longer get the  emote by using 8). Now, you use ": cool :" (remove the spaces).

Still, interesting to see a new minor change implemented on the site, : cool : (without the spaces) I think is better than 8)And so GS continues to change and update useless s*** instead of fixing s*** that actually matters, like they styIe and cIass issues.

I never get html errors, and the few times that I do I can always detect why it's giving an error and fix it easily.

Well if that's the case it doesn't look like they'll be fixing that... guess I need more practice/experience to know any possible error in forum messages that can cause html malfunction. I know they won't fix the flood error, since getting rid of that or even decreasing it could cause more spamming.

I know they won't fix the flood error, since getting rid of that or even decreasing it could cause more spamming. The flood error isn't a problem, that's something that was built into the system on purpose. As for the HTML errors, yeah it's the user's fault, not the system's (unless you use the editor possibly). If you turn off the editor and know just a little bit of HTML then you shouldn't get any errors ever, unless you are working with a post given to you by someone using the editor. I've been given huge walls of text before which doesn't work because the person who gave it to me was using the editor so it looked nice in that format, however in reality it doesn't work, and have managed to fix it. Is it fun fixing HTML errors? Obviously no, and it's actually a major hassle since GS doesn't really tell you what the error is and you have to know what to look for yourself, however if you know what you're writing then you can fix any HTML error or prevent them from happening.

Try html linking and it adds something when you try post and then rejects it.
