...what would it be? And why? Say anything and everything that comes to mind.

I would love to see more attention payed to the campaigns of the secondary characters. I want some actual story and content. I want to see unique areas that only they can get to. Unique bosses and enemies for them to fight, designed for them. I want to have story scenes for them so they aren't just wandering around The Castle. I want unique items only for them. As you could imagine, I can go on with this ^__^

yes that what you said would be amazing but plus i would want some checking on some story parts.in aria of sorrow for example you have a area with the black door then arikado come and say to you "there is a black door, only the reencarnation of dracula can pass trough it" (or something like that) but when you get trough the door Julius Belmont is waiting for you!!!!! this for me is a point to be fixed. there are a few more points in other games but i can't remind of any now.

Hmm..Dracula is a Vampire but we hardly see oher vamps besides Dracula himself. It would be nice if Dracula's 3 brides from the original Bram Stoker novel could be included as bosses as well. I would love to be able to see more character development. How nice if we could actually use Maria in Symphony of The Night? Maybe we could have a female lead for once instead of a male one.

Side missions could also be added to provide more deviation from the linear story line. Optional quests like maybe saving somebody would give you unique weapons. body armour, alternative costumes or MORE unlockable characters. We could have maybe 3 characters to choose from the start and they have to take different routes but will all eventually lead to the final battle with the COUNT.

Since Konami has taken the bold move to jump to a 3D game from a 2D one, they should start exploring options to make the game non-linear so as to improve its replay value.

Arikado never specifically mentions a black door. He only tells you there is a place where only you can go. I'm guessing that he means the area beyond where you fight Julius.

Sonia Belmont was the lead character in Castlevania: Legends. She was pretty awesome; I recommend that game. Maria Renard was playable in Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo (Rondo of Blood) and the Sega Saturn release of Symphony of the Night. Carrie Fernandez was playable in C64 and Legacy of Darkness (she's a decendent of Sypha Belnades from Castlevania 3).
Even with all these, I agree that it'd be a good idea to have more female protagonists. Especially another female Belmont.

You also spoke of having alternate quests which all lead up to killing Dracula. That was one of the many strengths of Legacy of Darkness and I agree that all of the Castlevania games should follow this format of plot variation. If you haven't played Legacy of Darkness I STRONGLY recommend it. It's arguably one of the best Castlevania games. (for more of why I think it's so great, just pm me)

If castlevania had cutscenes like the Metal Gear Solid series has, with incredible graphics and some intense moments, it would make castlevania actually have more of an intense feeling, which would be better. When you add new clothing to the main character, it should show the character actually wearing that armor or clothing or cape. Some bosses in Castlevania are questionably "not threatening", they should have bosses on every stage that look and feel like the final boss in any other game. I think you should be able to unlock a new playable character with a completely different point of view to the story. Maybe if they had you play as two characters seperately, which means, the characters could help each other out in the main story. I personally think that castlevania should give a two player co-op mode a try...but then the story would have to connect two characters like dracula's curse, and it might be hard to have a 3d co-op, it would work a lot better if it was a 2d game. *sigh* If only Castlevania DS had a way to have both people play as seperate characters like in Zelda the 4 swords!!!

The only thing that I don't find all to pleasing about the games are that sometimes the graphics can play against you..***I got stuck on a wall while trying to beat Dracula...It wasn't pretty, I'll tell you that much***

Castlevania Legends for original GB in 1997 has you play as Sonia Belmont (i think). BUt it would be nice if you could play as maria in the american SotN.

THe biggest thing I'd want to change if i could is add some difficulty to SotN's late game. Easiest way i can see that is add to the HP and attack of the enemies, and add more of them. Also cutting down the stat increase from leveling up would probably help too, and making leveling up less frequent would help too.

Id make a game, in kind of a classic format. It can be about some sort of time travel type thing and you could choose what belmont you want to play as in the game. Leon sonia trever simon christopher richter. Each with there own unique power and moves.

So you'd want to make a cut & paste adventure where you just toss random Belmonts from the ages into the mixing pot and see what you get? The whole idea behind castlevania (for the most part) is how members of the belmont family have fought against dracula though the ages. Most often no Belmont stars in more then one game because once he's done then it'd done, (s)he has endured her trial and we wait for dracula to resurect himself. What your talkingabout seems more like it would work as a bonus feature in a game. Only problem i see is when you start using the older characters their movements will be fairly sluggish and limited compared to most fo the recent characters in teh series. They would either have to remodel them, or balance them off like they did in Harmony of Dissonance when you sued 8-bit simon in the boss rush. He did insand amounts of damage, somthing like 230 each shot.

Good points, propyro. The other thing is that I still don't think Iga has perfected balancing a game with only one playable character. Imagine Iga trying to balance a half dozen or more. :?

Here's somthing i'd have loved to see in Lament of Innocence ... the Orb's actually being used when you play as Joachim. I noticed that when you fight against him, he has quite a few moves, but none of his moves are like the ones you get when you take controll of his character. Because i'm telling you, that blender attack would be fun as hell to use.

The blender attack? The one where the blades spin around him and kill everything nearby? You can do that one. Set your swords to slash instead of stab and use his magic attack. He'll do that instead of the beam.

Thats the stationary blender, the ont i'm talking about is where Joachim's swords stay a normal size, and spin around him horizontally, while he's motoring along on the outskirts of the room you fight him in. That would be like mixing Joachim's stationary blender attack with Leon's charging axe attack ... sheer awesomenss.

Well, if I had my way, I would make a last boss where the darkness of the castle and dracula merge to form, well, use your imagination. I just think that a castle that is a creature of chaos would be a cool boss (or element of one). Beyond one GBA game, "chaos" was never touched. Aside from death, that is my favorite castlevania boss concept. Plus I think a "even in death, the castle still owns you" thing would be tres cool.
