First Thanks to Rachel for reminding me of this.:wink:

What do you think we'll see in a next-gen Castlevania title?? Curse of Darkness with enhanced graphics and new storyline and characters?? I know I'd be satisfied with that!!

Or will there be some innovation?? like actually creating your own Castlevania Hero to play as!!

Two great ideas,but will we ever see them??

I, for one, would like to see a HUUUUGE environment to play in. Think Simon's Quest, only in 3D. Oh my god, they should just remake Simon's Quest in full 3D! That'd be so bad-ass!!!

Yeah,free roam is great,but I also want to create my own Character and have the choice to be Evil on Dracula's side.Being an evil vampire serving Dracula in his quest for vengeance would be so awesome.

Scorpinox1989: Curse of Darkness with enhanced graphics and new storyline and characters?? I know I'd be satisfied with that!! Me too :P but i'd like the control system to be improved and the characters to be faster on foot.

Yeah,that was a bit of a problem in CoD cause there was long hallways and corridors and Hector isn't all that fast on foot.

Hopefully we won't see anymore of that in the future.

Enchanced graphics that would be great but chr creation not for me. I wouldn't like that in a CV Game.

i would love more graphics and character develop... and some extra power.. like magic or some idea like with the card on CotM :D free environment would be great... like kind of zelda.. that you can just pick what to do 1st ... *day dreaming* the idea of building your character i do not like it that much, but if i could develop one weapon/magic over the other that`ll be great...

Such a sensitive topic....CV is known for so many traditional aspects- (i.e. always hearing Vampire Killer somewhere in most titles, particular weapons, castle setup,  etc.)  Personally, I'm always looking for something fresh in CV, but want to cling on to something I've seen for the last 20 years :P A weird mix I guess....

Graphics yes, obviously- that's what CV's based off of.  I would like to see extended areas, more of an adventure game, even more character development, and another fun "system" of weapons or summons.  I know it sounds kind of Final Fantasyish, but CV could branch out a little more....

Just no more looong boring hallways please! :cry:

Well if there was a new Castlevania game for the Wii you can use the Wiimote to whiplash and use subweapons while using the nunchaku attachment to move around. And as for the graphics (if on the Wii) I'd want them to be as good  as or better than Zelda: Twilight Princess

Man, I still can't get the Wii...;_;

I fixed Onilink's double post.

I guess I'm the only one that wants to create my character,but I understand that CV never has that and probably never will.:(

Atleast we all agree on the hallways and corridors :wink:

Character creation would be awesome. My creation would be something like a Dante/Soma/Nero hybrid which will be bada$$! But then what to do with the story... I don't know if you can put your creation in the default story or have the Char. take place of the main character's story what do you guys say(that is if you care about the story)? Well at least that's a kicka$$ idea.

The free environment is also a great idea. I've been a Zelda fan since the A Link to the Past (me want Twilight princess so bad...) so it can be like the main char. going to different long dungeons slaying monsters and killing the lord vampire there and going to towns/cities to shop, talk to people, robbing thier homes, just doing whatever you're doing in Zelda... But then it will no longer be the Castlevania we've known for a long time...:(

yea.. but imagine CV like this.. the usual stuff.. but instead of you having a limit space... You could go to a bunch of places on the castle taht are not really necessary for you to go wit the plot, stuff taht you if you want.. and there you will meet preview character of the CV series :shock:

Well what would be nice would be a really high res, 2d side scrolling castlevania, with maybe 3d backgrounds and characters, sorta like the play style of MMX8 or MMX: Maverick Hunter. As for the system, doesnt really matter to me, but didnt IGA say something about being intrested in the Wii?

Well you have the basic idea of the character creation,but I'd make a cross between Hector and Kain and have him working in Dracula's favor or in Death's favor.That would be the best,but when it comes to the story they could have the basic Castlevania story that applies differently depending on your character.Then the story would be good and it would still apply directly to your character,whether you seek to destroy Dracula or to Ally with him against the Belmonts attempting to rise up.

The Free Roam could be like Fable,but no RPG elements and still different to fit the CV design.

With the current info (and interiew) that I know, IGA is not interested in the Wii.  But who knows right?  He was worried about the controller fitting to the CV format...I guess I wouldn't mind trying to whip candles with that thing :P

Onilink I love your Zelda idea.  I know it's not CV per se.....but I'd play it.  What I'm beginning to like is that they are starting to think more along the lines of character development.  PoR is a great example right now-the characters really pack a punch for such a small game.

1. IGA has stated that he cannot come up with any good ideas to implement in a Castlevania game using the Wiimote at this time. Also, he's worried about the PS3 being too out of the reach of casual gamers (I'd LOL to that...), and I'm going to assume he's not much interested in Xbox 360 at the moment. :/

2. Psuedo 3D would be an interesting concept, ala New Super Mario Bros. or MM:MHX, but I'd still like to see them keep the sprite work now. There's a lot of character in those 20x89* pixel people we see running around on the DS, and it's just not the same with a 3D model. I don't know how many people agree with me, but having recently bought Castlevania Chronicles for the PSO, I'm in the mood for a little remix of the past if you know what I mean. Get this:

Castlevania Chronicles: Dracula X Saga

A compilation of Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night for a next gen system would be perfect. Rondo of Blood is one of the few games that fans overwhelmingly want remade (CV3 included), and it'd be awesome to see what ideas they'd add in the Arrange Mode. Also, and Arrange Mode for Symphony of the Night would be just icing on the cake. And they should add in the missing features/areas found in Nocturne in the Moonlight! XD

I'll stop there for now. ^^

While I haven't played the old-school Castlevania titles and I don't know who Iga is,I'm still pretty sure he/she is interested in one of the three next-gen consoles.Iga will have to make the games on next-gen now because current-gen is dying now that the PS3,Xbox360,and Wii are all out.I disagree with you about 3D,Curse of Darkness is beautiful and I would never enjoy it in 2D,that said,3D can be done just as well as 2D and for next-gen people are gonna want 3D just like all others.

After CoD the producers have said several times that they prefer 2D, which mean and explain why they keep or have kept doing stuff for GBA/ DS :( but hey... one day they would have to do a gen-console game.. i`m just not expecting it on this year, pry not even 2008 :? Actually it was said that they are not currently producing one for 2007 :(

A DS Lite wouldn't exactly be a wasted investment; there are still plenty of good games out for it other than JUST Castlevania. XD

But yes, lack of next-gen titles might be a good thing really. IGA/Koji Igarashi and his "Dracula X" team (the ones that made Symphony) have been releasing a lot of games really quickly within the past few years (Aria mere months after Harmony, Dawn and PoR in annual succession), and it's becoming a case of "been there, done that" to a fair group of Castlevania gamers out there. I'm waiting for future CV titles as much as the next person, but I don't exactly mind if they delay a game to improve its quality. ^^;;

Everyone remembers the bomb that Konami dropped when they released Castlevania 64, what they don't see is the ideas that could've been great if they had more time. Personally, I bought that "horrible" game off eBay, and there are some aspects of it I like BETTER than the newer 3D games. KCEK had great cinematic styling in CV64, and the level design was a LOT more varied there than it was in Lament and Curse. For one thing, the areas actually had DEPTH to them. I can't help saying this, but Curse and Lament felt like playing in a cardboard box at times: Flat and dull. O=

I'm currently waiting for Legacy of Darkness to arrive at my doorstep (the improved "special edition" of CV64), because I can't wait to see what they did manage to fix. CV64 sucked yes, but only because the heads of the corporation pushed the developers to release a half-assed product earlier than they should've. :/

I'd have to disagree with you on the 2D to 3D matter.Curse of Darkness is far better than any of the 2D Castlevanias,where it may lack in detail,it far from lacks in Innovation(forging Weapons,Innocent Devils,etc...) Character,and Storyline.I'd rather wield a sword,axe,or lance than a Whip,and why not have an Innocent Devil fight beside me?? That said,What do you get from the 2D Castlevanias that even comes close to as good as that?? I doubt you get anything at all.

Castlevania doesn't work for me in 3d. Except maybe bits and pieces of Lament of Innocence. The Ghostly Theatre was my favorite stage from anything, ever. Other than that I'll stick to 2d.

You absolutely nailed it on the head.  I feel like some of them were quickly "hashed out" to keep the marketing up.  I was very skeptical about PoR, but they've done some innovative things- it's great! :)  Hope you have a good time with Legacy of Darkness- it seems to be a sleeper hit among many people.

Scorpino have you played SotN? :|  I love CoD to death don't get me wrong....but it was so obvious that the majority was cut and paste...heaven forbid I walk through cordova town and see something else besides another street, or the Abandoned Castle and see........another hallway!  There was some thought and detail put into every screen/section in SotN.  Maybe it's the old schooler in me, but 2D should NOT equal primitive.

I understand that,but in Sotn you use a whip,don't you?? I prefer to use a sword,axe,or lance.I prefer 3D and I don't care about level detail when it comes down to CoD because it has as much as it needs.It's all else that really strengthens it.

In SotN you play as Alucard... soo... no whip for you!*soup nazi voice!* Instead you get whips, swords, axes, hammers, lances, shuriken, all kinds o' magical items and what not. Also you've got the familiars that follow you such as the Fairy Familiar who heals you, the Sword and Devil Familiars who fight alongside you and another who I can't ever remember. Sounds like these "Innocent Devils" you young whippersnappers keep yapping about.

:lol: Noooo you don't play with a whip honey.  I'd be fine if you were to give your opinion on games you've played.  There are at least 13 shields, 16 two-handed weapons and 56 one handed weapons, 8 spells, not to mention the choice of endless head gear, accessories, body armor, cloaks, and.....familiars *COUGH*  :lol:  Now go play SotN or I'll beat you with a stick! :lol:

But yes, lack of next-gen titles might be a good thing really. IGA/Koji Igarashi and his "Dracula X" team (the ones that made Symphony) have been releasing a lot of games really quickly within the past few years (Aria mere months after Harmony, Dawn and PoR in annual succession), and it's becoming a case of "been there, done that" to a fair group of Castlevania gamers out there. I'm waiting for future CV titles as much as the next person, but I don't exactly mind if they delay a game to improve its quality. ^^;;

Syrinx61

You absolutely nailed it on the head.  I feel like some of them were quickly "hashed out" to keep the marketing up.  I was very skeptical about PoR, but they've done some innovative things- it's great! :)  Hope you have a good time with Legacy of Darkness- it seems to be a sleeper hit among many people.

One problem: I wouldn't be able to find a copy of SOTN.

Amazon.com is your friend... sort of. That's where I found my copy earlier this year. Factory sealed, non-greatest hits version. Only cost me $80... and my soul. I'm gonna go cry now because I spent $80 on a video game.

I don't think you really need a paypal account but I've been wrong before. Anyway, I'd actually care to see another Castlevania with Juste and Maxim, seeing as HoD was my favorite GBA Castlevania. 2D or 3D, I'd probably enjoy that.

Well,it's usually Paypal or a credit card and I'll never own a credit card so it'll be Paypal.

I'd love to see a CV with Juste in it,but without the getting stuck syndrome of HoD.I still can't get past it.

Why do you ask?? I have no idea what you're talking about,but Kain does happen to be a Vampire from the Legacy of Kain Series.(not sure if that's who you're talking about)

Yeah,but he looks different cause it's from Blood Omen and the pic that Mari posted is from Legacy of Kain:  Defiance!! (he has a bit of a different look in the 2 games because the events of Blood Omen come before the events of Legacy of Kain: Defiance)
