Q for the true Castlevania fan: PSP or DS

In your opinion, if you could only afford to get one for now (PSP or DS) which would you buy?

I've decided that I'm going to go ahead and buy one of these 2 handhelds, and I want my first game to be a Castlevania game.

Based on that, which system would you recommend?

OMG DS!!! from my point of view.. is a handheld that all CVfan should have.

I had the same question last december I think it was... and based on the fact that the game I wanted to play was CV..

Why I end up getting a DS? and no a psp.

1. DS has 2 CV games. (And now there is one more on the go)

2. You can play all the GBA Cv games. (I did not had a GBA)

3. I own a ps2 and I have SotN there.

That said, I bought CV DXC either way and borrow a psp to play it :P

NOTE: to those that want to help him to decide, pls DO NOT turn this into system wars (remember that CUU do not support this). Thx. And based your answer on CV, no others games/features. Balance the CV games on psp and ds, which game you think make X system more worth than the other. Sorry Conjuration, for a non-cv fan point of view you would need psp/ds/war system boards. I know you know this bc you are asking considering CV as ou 1st game to play, just to remind the guys/gals do not flame me :oops: :D

yeah, go with DS, i only own the gba CV titles. but there are DS CV ones im gonna get this coming week.

it would be more on the lines of two, the Rondo Blood one, original an 2.5, and SotN. since i never had a ps1, i missed out on it but was happy to play it on psp

but still, DS does have more titles, which means more stories to soak up

its like unwritten law to play SotN, its the template that spawned all these recent games. an it is a classic an must have

true about SotN.. but I guess it all depends if he can find it for ps2 (which he has).. it can be found in ebay, thus it may get pricy depending on his luck..

yeah, i never had a ps1...so i missed out on SotN. an when i saw DXC at gamestop...it was love at first sight. i did play the rondo one before(i dunno where, but i remembered the first part of the game on the carrigae). an it took me awhile but i figured out how to unlock SotN...i loved it.

originally, my first CV title, was CV adventures on Gameboy, thats right, the BRICK. but i loved it ever since. so handhelds plus CV equals good times

Definitley the DS. Look at the lineup and there is no question. it is just sheer numbers. quality over Quantity? no. because castlevania is castlevania, quality means nothing for they are all great therefor quanity would reign supreme. go for the DS is what i am trying to say.xemnas_is_god

i'd go with the ds cos it has more cv games and you can now download SotN on Xbox360 anyway!

1. Quality of games.

2. Quantaty of games.

And that all castlevania have quality, so in going DS vs PSP (bc both system have CV with quality) he should go to #2 and pick the one that has more games.

anyways, yeah, there is a boatload of titles for ds. and almost every cv game has good quality, so there isnt much to fret about

Yes, SOTN is actually available for PS3, via Playstation Store download service. I think it costs $10.

I honestely got the DXC bc of RoB.. SotN is a excellent game, but I have it and is for PS3/360 store (yea that`s pretty cool)

@Hush: dude if you have a ps3, get SotN.. is worth it and there is nothing like playing that game in ful screen.. SotN below in full size :P

as for the ps3...i just might get it an play it again, there is no harm in it:)

yea.. and the psp version have some weird glitch (to some this did not happen) I dunno who is the ps3 one, bc I own the original but I have not heard anything wrong about it...

fortunately, i dont think i had a glitch.

but overall i was happy that it had SotN, since i missed it on the original ps. an now, i really ish they did this with some other cv titles, but if im not mistaken, that will have a more arcade approach where SotN started the rpg element

I repurchased it. Borrowed it to my friend a few months later...and he lost it.
So maybe my best option is to download it anyway. ;p

good called about the ps3.. i`m doing the same.. I think it was a smart decition of me getting the console the order I did... wii then ps3.. in fall the couple would be completed :P

Anyway.... I think that I can close this topic now... lets us know when you get the DS and if you like it as much as I (we) think you will. :D
