I have to admit I only own two of the games, lament of innocence and curse of darkness. Of which I have only completed curse of darkness. So at this time it's my fav. by default. Once I find a map for lament of innocence, I'll have to see. It just might be better!

those are really good games...i don`t own a PS2 and i rent one just to be able to play those games... :):P about that map...here you will find almost any map you need...(go down to maps and charts section)

OMG...they are on GBA..and you are a castlevania fan you have to play them...i love them... I really dont like the gba and besides I dnt even own one any more I just sold my s and all of the games for it tooo
and now im waiting on my birthday to get the psp,the i870,and a few games for the psp

Any one that is styled after Symphony of the Night, which includes Harmony of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow. Finally sat down and beat AoS after having it for a year. Great game!

I'll answer this for you.....It is best to buy it new than buy it used or refurbished,because if you buy it new you'll be able to download emulaters on the psp and if you buy it used which is already upgraded you cant really download stuff like emulaters

Symphony of the Night was the one that reminded me I liked Castlevania, so It's probably my favorite. Before that Castlevania 2 was the one I liked the most.

People have criticized Dracula X because of the changes that was made from the JP PC engine to the US and Pal SNES port. Almost everything was changed, to the worse many say (I wouldn't know) It has also been disliked since it kept the old controls from the NES games, especially since Super Castlevania had introduced a new and better controll. The last was that the it was too hard (Agreed, I was so angry at parts of the game, but I managed to complete it) Anyway, I love them both! :wink:

i get your point... but agree with you...those are great games.... and as soon NRev comes out i`ll have every game of castlevania ever made for nintendo... including those... :lol::)

While Dracula X for the SNES was "good" it wasn't good enough. As a stand-alone game it would've done a lot better, but as a port for Castlevania Dracula X: Rondo of Blood, it failed miserably. XP
My favorite recent games thus far have been the RPG/Metroid styled Castlevanias:
1. Symphony of the Night 2. Circle of the Moon 3. Aria of Sorrow 4. Harmony of Dissonance
I haven't played the older ones lately. T'would be best if I not say anything about them until I refresh my memory. ^^;;
Knock Harmony off my list above and replace it with Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. At last, I've found a game that's closer to Symphony than ever before. ^^;;
Oh, and for the old school folks out there, I'll list my favorite of the "classic" level-crawler titles. ;D

Harmony of Dissonance was nice, but it felt like they just took Symphony, chopped it into little itty bitty pieces, randomly taped it back together, and called in a new game. I mean, look at the maps between the two... I know you need to stay accurate to the timeline, but c'mon... ==b
Dawn of Sorrow was made for the DS, and the power on that thing is comparable to a PSOne/N64. The backgrounds and sprite animation are all very close to Symphony: They even have sprite rips of Slogra, Gaibon, and Malachi in there! OO;;
As for the N64 ones, I will get them eventually, but I've never played them. I hear they have one of the poorest reputations in Castlevania history though... O=

you hit it on the head with harmony of dissonance- they didn't quite get the map thing right.....N64 CV is so weird, either you absolutely love it, or despise it....can't say i have anything great to say about it...:(

wow...i will defently try Dawn of sorrow....don`t know how...don`t have a DS...:? and no....the N64 are good games...especially legacy of darkness....you should at least give them a try.... of course the one of GBA are better but hey those games are just to great :D

is there a huge difference between CV 64 and legacy of darkness? We have to pay a pretty penny for Legacy of Darkness i guess because it's a bit rare....I had it in my hands at gamestop a long time ago, and the guy said it's pretty much the same as CV64 and not worth the $$$.....i should have bought it anyway!! :cry:

well...don`t cry...if it make you feel better most of the people like CV64 more...i`m just one of the few taht like legacy of darkness more...i dunno like the especial ability and some cool weapons taht it had i guess...:P
