For me personally it was Dragonball GT Final Bout, the North American version that came out in 1997 I believe. I remember getting it at Toys R Us within days of it being released and they only had a few there.

Unfortunately, the game is pretty awful...

Weirdos for even bothering to re-release that piece of trash.  The only good part of that game was some of the english voice acting.

Yeah, I know it had to do with marketing. But they just went a bit too far with re-releasing that gem of a game! :)

Hey I remember playing Valis, that was way back in the early 90s.

I think the Iron Chef game I have for the Saturn is rare.

For me, it would probably be Action 52 for NES, with box and booklet, or my full Aladdin Deck Enhancer set (all games with the accessory, all unopened). I still own all of those to this day. Or else it's Dragonball Z: Super Butdouden 2 for SNES (that's right, although the game is in Japanese, it has a North American casing and label).

According to Gamespot I'm only one of two people who own this crappy "Knight's Quest" game on Gameboy and I think the other guy is just lying about having it to get chicks.

It says I'm the only one to have Hiryu No Ken S Hyper Version for Super Famicom, but I'm sure that's not such a rare game, just none of the other owners get on here.

Lunar: SSSC, Elemental Gearbolt, Gex, Total Eclipse Turbo, Wipeout XL, Battle Arena Toshinden (for GB).  And Silent Thunder: A10 Tank Killer II.  Actually most of those are probably easy to find, but it's the rarest stuff I've got.

It would definitely be Action 52, especially with the box and the manual, etc.  Even though the Aladdin is kinda rare, it doesn't go for much even unopened.  And the Butoden 2 game is actually not that rare; maybe if it is factory sealed.

I actually almost got a copy of Taromaru (complete too) for the Saturn a few months ago, but I talked myself out of it because it was going for over $400 (I had the money but hey, I'm not rich).  Honestly, I will probably try to get it off of EBAY again in the near future, alongside Brigandine Gold Edition if that ever shows up.

Has anyone ever even seen Gold Edition on EBAY before?  I'm starting to think that it may be even more rare than Action 52 and Taromaru and whatever else I can think of.

The Japanese copy definitely doesn't. The one I have is North American, and is either a Latin American prototype or a bootleg. I don't want to think it's a bootleg, but if I find out it is in the end, I'll take it off my games list. There's another game I'd like to have evaluated sometime to see if it's a bootleg, too - I have a Korean copy of Gun.Smoke for NES that some people said is a bootleg, but it also has official labeling and stuff that looks authentic.

Really?  Is there a way you can scan pictures of the box? I only thought there was a Japanese version of that game and I am curious now.  Where did you get it from anyway?

I tend to get a little ansy about buying things off of eBay sometimes because of the possibility that I may be dealing with a bootleg. I am skeptical of sellers from Hong Kong for instance when there are rare games involved, I think a lot of bootlegs come from there unless I am mistaken.

Naw man the chinese guy was in the GB version, hand claws and energy balls in all.  There was also the staff guy...and the two ninja-ish dudes who had short swords.  And some chic with a whip.  The PS and GB games might have been really similiar, but I can't remember the PS version that well.

[QUOTE="Superdude687"]I was going to buy a Saturn off Ebay but I was wondering if I could get some recommendations

Nights is one of my favorite games,  I have that funky controller that came with it too.  There are a lot of great Japanese Saturn games, one that comes to mind immediately is Princess Crown, but it is kind of rare.  Then there are all the shooters that came out for Saturn (again, in Japan only), like Radiant Silvergun, DoDonPachi, Battle Garegga, etc.  Then there is Policenauts (Japan)  which is supposed to be really good though I haven't played it yet (I played Snatcher for Sega CD though).  And let's look at all these other great games like the Sakura Taisen series, Shining Force III series, Dracula X, Grandia, Langrisser IV, Slayers Royal, Black/Matrix... the list goes on and on!

So, basically, even though there were some great games that came over to the states, the Saturn has a lot of amazing games... in Japanese.

You can get a cart that goes into the Saturn's expansion slot, such as the Action Replay 4M Plus.  You can find them on eBay and some other websites.

yeah, you can also find ram packs which allow games that have long loading times to load about 90x faster.

I recommend Action Replay Plus personally. It has the 4mb and 1mb RAM upgrades for playing Capcom and SNK imports respectively (they require said upgrades), is a converter, a cheat device, and also stores game data. There's one other converter that does all that, but I forget the name of it. If you get one of those two, though, you're set for Saturn import gaming. Without one of those, you'll have to swap your converter with a RAM cart while the system is on, if you're playing a game that requires the RAM or want the faster load, which can screw up your cart slot. Definitely not something you want.

I got both the North American Dragonball Z 2: Butoudai and the Korean Gun.Smoke from a nearby shop. The guy's a bit overpriced, but he does have stuff you don't see anywhere else. For example, he even has a TV with the Magnavox Odyssey built into it - the controllers are built into the TV and you hold them by hand to play Pong or whatever you're playing! Only 20 of those were ever made, and he was fortunate enough to get one! See, they were awarded as first prize in a drawing back in the mid 70s (not the grand prize, but right after the grand prize) and were valued at $500, which would be like buying a brand-new car by paying all at once in modern times. However, these things never made it into production, so the only ones in existence are the ones given out through that drawing. He has the ad displayed next to it, which is really cool. The Dragonball Z SNES game was in his "Ooh Aah" case, which also has things like a Sorcerer's Apprentice Atari 2600 prototype, a copy of Custer's Revenge, and other assorted rarities. Cost me $100 for the Dragonball Z game, and knowing what I know now, I got ripped off big time, but what the hey, it's something you definitely don't see every day. I just hope it's not a bootleg, but it probably is. Anyhow, I do have scans for the Korean Gun.Smoke game, which I'll post a link to sometime, and I saved a jpg from the ebay auction for the 2 North American Dragonball Z SNES games. That guy had the boxes with his, whereas I only have the cart. Fortunately, other than that Sorcerer's Apprentice prototype, this guy only has one other thing in his "Ooh Aah" case that I really want to get my hands on - a Mr. Do! clock, which you could probably tell from looking at my avatar.

If it makes you feel any better, I think the Mr. Do! clock might not be legit. I've never seen it on ebay, and the image looks just like the sideart on the sides of arcade machines, so it may be nothing more than that sideart put to a clock, although that sideart itself goes for a pretty good amount on ebay.
