Union Features

Union Discussion is always a good thing, but does your union have other features added onto it?

For example, my union has one heck of a Review Center. We pride ourselves on it and we try to get those new review emblems as well.

So, what about your unions? What features do you have that add on to the regular discussion?

My union, ULC, has a Union Tour feature, but seeing how the video tab doesnt work anymore, its going to be a topic.kcwsk8

is it now? When can we expect that to be up?

And can we post more than just tour videos? :o

Well, I don't know if this is special, but Rare inc. is eternally linked to the Banjo Kazooie Union. (like they are sister unions, they help each other out and share ethe business)

Also, umm... in the party union we have a thread where people can post pics. of themselves and we have a thread where we kinda review movies and talk about ones coming out, we basically review/preview them.

For the F1PU, not many people have that much knowledge on the technical aspects of Formula 1. Therefore, one of my officers set up a thread where people can ask him things that they don't quite understand, and he explains it, which comes in really useful.

Also, I only started it recently, but when i see a new poster on the union, I now send them a welcoming PM, pointing out some of our main threads within the union. It's only been going less than a week but already I've had very positive responses about it. I've also set up a thread where people can ask for GP's from the past and I'll attempt to bring them the race through a link.

Then there's all our games. Whilst we like to have serious discussions, we also like to show off our comedy skills. Therefore not only do we have a monthly "Caption This!" game, but also threads where people can create unlikely newspaper headlines/stories regarding F1, but also "You know you've watched too much F1 when..." thread. Our OT thread is also based upon a virtual bar, which makes for interesting convos half of the time. Basically, we not only focus on the sport, but also the unification ofthe community so thateveryone feels as welcome as is possible.

My union has a bunch of stuff in it... Like a character tag request thread (like the one in my sig) with a RPing topic to go along with it. We also have a huge tournament going on now where people can vote for the best thinking game, embassies (my idea), the basic game threads, and we are planning on doing something HUGE for our union as well soon! Well my goal is to have one of the biggest and most active unions on GS, so I am taking great care of it. But once a union starts to become active and more features are implemented in, the harder it gets. And I'm only leading one union and it's getting this tiring. That's the downside to having so many special thingsa about an union.

My money is on photoshop program. Try GIMP, it's free and it's about the best there is really. It's kind of confusing at first, so I would suggest getting the help files fo it first. Or finding a GIMP union, which I belive there are somewhere. There's also the option of finding a union to make them for you, or just someone you know.
