I just personally quit warhammer online yesterday.  Basically i quit for the same reasons i quit wow.  The character classes and pvp are a very bad joke imo and i cant understand how anyone would enjoy playing either game at this point.

Stealth classes getting automatic kills for pvp, and pets with an ability to knock your class right into the middle of thier group for instant kills is just completely retarded imo, and thats just to mention a couple of things.  They really made both games where theres a minimal of skills involved and they are just getting worse.  Theres really nothing to do in either game except get more gear too.  Even warhammer onlines Keep/castle taking system is just kinda not worth the time (you can get more reputation from scenario's anyway).  Everyone is just meant to die every so often, no matter how much skill you have.  Meaning that even those with skill are brought down to the lowest common denominator level.

I never played conan before (altho ive come close 3 times, but they say theres not enough content), so my vote for best mmo this year has to go to Eve Online! :P  I personally think i may be going back to eve soon, altho that game certainly has its problems of its own, its still vastly superior to either warhammer or warcraft imo (or any other mmo ive seen) even with its bad xp system and bad politics, eve seems to take the cake this year.

What other mmo's do you know of that you can own your very own stations/territory, and all the people that have ever played the game play in the same server?

Warhammer Online, but only because WOW is a life stealer and Age of Conan has lets you run around almost naked and having read the books, is a poor mans World of Conan.

World of Warcraft wins this (somebody did not vote so I counted the posts to double check and WOW was 2-1 up on Warhmmaer). Congratulations to Blizzard for this win.

Discuss the result here!

I acctually bought Age Of Conan, but apparently My PC wasnt powerfull enough, so I never played it. I bought Wrath Of The Lich King, but since My DVD Writer is busted, I cant install it before fixing it.I really wanna get back into the game, but its like posting on GameSpot, I really wanna do it, but I just cant seem to find any Time for it.

Why isn't The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria a choice? Why is this game being consistantly ignored dispite stellar reviews and a strong subscription base?

Maybe because it is yet to make it over to the shores of the uk and as such is not taking advantage of the massive market here as the three games in the list have done. Plus, the expansion was only released in November so it is hard to judge its impact.

I personally don't like WOW because it has turned many of my friends into morons who now thing they have other new friends because they talk to strangers online. This is not the case - they are simply becoming social recluses (my housemate ventures from his room for a grand total of an hour a day after he returns from work (because he says he has nothing else to do (but then what did he do before he gave his soul over to Blizzard)) - something which mmo's can be particularly blamed for. I can however see why such games are succesful, especially WOW, because it should run on just about any modern machine, unlike many other games of its ilk.
