All of us have a big collection of games, and I am sure you have at least a few games lying somewhere in your room completely untouched.

 2

Let's do this:

  • Share the name of the game and platform
  • Try to remember when you bought it
  • Tell us why you haven't touch it
  • Tell us what's your future plan with the game (sell, swap, keep for future, etc.)

You can also include games that you played briefly and gave up. Tell us what made you give up playing and whether you wish to go back to them or not.

Oddly enough, The Witcher 2.

I bought it the day it was released.

The reason I lost interest in it was because of the QTE during fistfights. The first game had it right, the mouse controlled it all. The QTE is too slow to react, Geralt always loses.

Maybe someday I'll restart it, if I'm extremely bored.

Haha I could start typing now but I will be here next year still :P

However, on a positive note, I have started playing Fallout New Vegas today after picking it up in the Steam Sales recently.

I think Garfield must win this surely. Mass Effect 2. Played it for ten hours, got stuck rescuing a doctor, gave up after another two hours of frustration and called it a day. Wasnt enjoying the new characters or story anyway. And having seen the end of ME3, glad I didnt waste my time.

I bought the Tintin game (PC Version) after watching the movie in 3D. I was actually looking forward to get the xbox360 version because I thought it'd be more suited for playing using a gamepad as it has a 3rd person perspective. However, due to my lazy nature and being occupied with other games, I am yet to play this game. In between, a friend of mine borrowed it and returned it only a few days ago.

I think I'll give the game a shot soon.

Well, yes :D

I've always enjoyed the comic books and I loved the movie, too. So I thought about giving the game a shot.

The movie was pretty cool, very well made. Hopefully a new one will be done.

Nope I haven't installed it yet....currently I'm too hooked up with replaying Dragon Age: Origins with all DLCs and a number of user made mods. The game has aged really well.

Good lord.....what a discussion, I have a laundry list of games I capped after 3 hours or so in. Thank god I have gamefly that's all I have to say heres a few recent one's and a short tidbit about why I threw them out my front door. Kingdoms of Amalur: The combat got completely repetitive after about ten hours in. Returned to gamefly after 2 days. Final Fantasy XIII: Even with the best combat system to date and graphics the story was just so insanely bad, I just couldnt stomach it. To this day I'm still confused as to what exactly happened, and the onslaught of repetitive dialogue. Ran over with my car and cried when they announced a sequel, rented that and just wow.....pokemon and time travel is how Square answers the fans complaints.....just wow...haha. Borderlands 2: Game offers no replay value after hitting level 50, the entire system is like a copy paste of Diablo 3, playing same game 100 times through for crappy loot, was just idiotic. And what made me the most angry was paying for the season pass of DLC and after 3 of the 4 DLC's being announced and distributed there is still no raise in the level cap. Traded this is for Dark Souls.

I had issues with Amalur, too. After playing for about 20-30 hours, I got so bored of the repetitive nature of the tasks and pointless lore, I just started skipping all dialogues. But I guess you can respec your character every now and then, which means you can alter between a mage, rogue and a warrrior at will, which keeps things somewhat interesting.

Somehow I managed to beat it, but I have no intention to revisit the game, ever!

So for PC gamers this would be the "Hi, I'm a Steam addict, and I've not bought a game for 2 weeks" thread :P

I love a bargain, so when the big online sales hit I tend to buy a whole load more games to play, despite having a long list of stuff that hasn't even been looked at since a previous batch of sales!

I tried to make a bit more of an effort over this Christmas, so playing Dead Island finally, despite buying it about 12 months earlier and not getting beyond downloading it - turns out I really enjoy it, and now looking forward to Dead Island riptide.

Added Kingdoms of Amalur, Syndicate and NFS Most Wanted to my Origin library - had a great time with NFS, but not touched the other two yet. Also picked up Dishonored in the sales, though that's waiting to be played, along with The Witcher 2, which is sat on the shelf waiting to be installed.

I guess I just like to really focus on one game at a time and play it to completion. If I jump between several games, chances are I will end up losing track of what was happening and then it's all too easy to just abandon the game all together. I do like to finish a game before moving on to a new one.

I tend to do the same. Although I also find I can easily drop a game even when I like it (for instance, Halo 4 I am halfway through and was enjoying it, then I just stopped playing it one day and have not touched the game since).

That's because you have hundreds of games garfield. You're addicted more to the initial buzz of purchase and exploration than you are of completing the games :P

I think I've suffered from the same problem as Avenger1234 has mentioned....when I start playing too many games at the same time, I tend to lose track and a majority of them don't get played. I could manage to finish Amalur only because I didn't have any other game installed on my PC at that time, and I wasn't playing the xbox, either.

Nowadays I tend to play only one game at a time. That is why I am slowly progressing ahead in Diablo 3, while I've left many games hanging in the middle. Some of them are:

1. Witcher 2

2. Starcraft 2

3. Sleeping Dogs

4. Skyrim

etc.

May be the same issue I have, great games but they take that long to finish if you really get into them (I am one of those people who does all the side missions I get offered and in Skyrim I had played maybe 10 hours plus before I had left Whiterun or whatever the first main town is called). Same with Mass Effect 3 where I have been just going around scanning planets over progressing the main story. I have been a bit burnt out with that game and not played it the last couple of days and I am not in that wierd zone of whether I actually go back to it or start playing something else.

I hear you, man. Let me give you a bit more details.

Skyrim, sigh..I've played this game for almost 100 hours (or maybe a bit more) and then suddenly my PC decided to crash. I had to reinstall windows, and I never quite managed to force myself to play through again. I, too, was going through every side quest and faction quests.

After getting my new gaming laptop, I started a new game--but it's not going anywhere. I guess I've had enough of Skyrim already.

Skyrim was a game I really got into, put 100+ hours into it, then for some reason stopped playing it - not really sure - maybe I'd had enough of it for then and something else was out that I started. I do intend to go back to it, though having had such a break from it it's a little hard to remember exactly what I had already done and where I was up to with the main story. I know from how I play that I spend most of my time doing just about everything apart from the main quest, so it will be more like starting a new game but with a character that it 30 levels higher :)

I started Dead Island at the very end of last year, and now a bit burnt out with it - completed the story, did every side quest, explored the entire island and really enjoyed it - but now time for a break. Steam says I've done 116 hours - so that's a decent run for a game, especially when it was a bargain sale purchase :)

I'm in that weird kind of limbo-land with games at the moment - just finished one, got several I could go back to, or a stack of new ones to start - and just can't decide which one - a real hardship I know :P
