Dynasty Warriors..........real time strategy game?

So there has been a lot of hooplah for Starcraft II and I'm not into RTS games but will be getting this to see what this is all about. I do remember playing Warcraft I and II and liking them though.

So yeah, wouldn't DW translate REALLY well to an RTS game? I mean your hero units would be the various generals and then you could have the  units such as archers, cavalry, siege weapons and other stuff. I think it would fit really well. They do have ROTK but that is quite different to games like Starcraft II and is more similar to Civillisation I would guess (although Ihave never played Civillisation). I think a DW RTS would be bloody awesome!

Ah I forgot about Kessen. I've never played it personally. Is it on PC?

Oh and I also really meant a game that was starcraft/warcraft but with DW. From what I remember of Kessen it isn't like that, although I could be wrong.

Kessen 2 is pretty much RTS. but it's PS2 only.

It also sends the RoTTK story line into the fantasy zone almost to the point of unrecognizability.  The back of the box states something along the lines of 'Liu Bei and his band of mis-fit adventurers must save the princess Diao Chan from the dark lord Cao Cao.'  Ridiculous.JeffSteel

yes, but Kessen 2 is very fun to play you must admit.

I would like to place a ban on the creation of new RTS's. Why? Because they're practically all the same and no immersion is involved. The RTS genre has evolved the least by far since the days of C&C and Age of Empires, which is why they keep coming out. Use the same exact game, slap a different setting on it, and sell it easy. i'm not much into RTS games i must admit. Command and Conquer was all it took for me.

Just recently I played my brother via LAN (warcraft 3) and it was really fun!!! It was so easy to set up too! Most houses have several computers now. I have 1 pc and a few laptops. Since my laptops use the same wireless I think the LAN connection was already there and we just played each other. No setup or anything required. It was just pure, unadulterated, chess like fun.

You guys should really give it a go!!!

Sure the genre hasn't evolved much but for people like me that have not really experience much of the genre, that doesn't really matter.

Haven't actually played it.  After reading the back of the box I was like "Lol, no."

I did enjoy Kessen 1 though, so the gameplay is likely similiar enough to know I would likely enjoy the actual gameplay of it.  But, its just too bizarre... :(

i will say it is incredibly bizare. it plays out like one of those traditional Kung Fu movies that you find Jet Li starting in remakes of. there's just a little bit of power rangers in the cut scenes. but then there is an awesomeness to it as well. like Sima Yi is incredibly cool and likable. and it was so addictive when i first played it i couldn't stop for like 24 hours straight.
