I was pretty bored and feeling pretty productive, so I decided to post this. Just wondering what characters everybody here plays as in DW and ROTK. Though I already know the answer to some.

In DW5 Yuan Shao is my favorite, but I didn't like him in 6. Other than that, Ma Chao, Liu Bei, Sun Jian, and Cao Pi are my favorites in DW.

Somehow I mostly have a completely different opinion of most characters in ROTK. My favorites in ROTK are doing 'the battle for revenge' with Ma Chao, declaring myself emperor with Yuan Shu, and defeating Cao Cao with Yuan Shao.

I'm probably the only guy here who likes the Yuans haha.

So, yeah, if you feel so compelled I'd be interested to hear (or see, rather)the results.

I play Sun Jian in both series' but I'm only willing to play Zhou Yu in ROTK because he's an anime "dush" in DW.

i'm a big fan of Ma Chao in the 4 and 5 of DW as well as Yue Ying. wish they didn't go all bow and arrow on her in 6 although her dw6e weapon is a lot lot better. as for character/acting i did like Sun Jian in the first two as well as Xiahou Dun - also because his avatar i 4 just looks cool after you pwn a baddy at the end of a level. :P

Dia Chan in DW4 was pretty awesome to play. some of her levels like when you protect Dong Zhuo are just totally epic when you are leveled up just the right amount to where you have to struggle to keep it all together. :D

and of course Guan yu in 4 was just awesome fun to play as far as his actual mosou attack. and he's like the god of war and all.

6 would be Liu Bei and Diao Chan as far as crazy cool move sets. Diao Chan was especially awesome in her mosou when you level her suicide style using Master mode. Sima Yi wasn't too shabby either. Zhuge Liang was the most surprising character shift in DW6 when i figured out how awesome he was with his special. Sun Jian wins DW6 as far as the most challenging character to play with that is still totally fun. his suicide leveling was extremely addictive.

ROTK so far i'm having fun with Liu Bei and his two brothers although i did just conquer Sun Ce and am extremely proud to have him, Quan, and Zhou Yu on my team now. not to mention Zhou Tai. and of course Zhan Liao is da bomb in ROTK XI with his Will removing special skill. and he owns on cavalry. and of course Cheng Pu and his Admiral special skill in XI makes him a killer on the water with a proper boat. i put him and another southern sailor on the water there in the south and they basically sank every boat Cao Cao sent at me. they've ruled the water so far all on their own.

speaking of Zhou Tai he gets an honerable mention in DW4 and 5 for being freakin cool x 2000 with that Japanese sword of his. and he's also pretty handy in ROTK.

but back to the three brothers, you throw Guan Ping in there and you have these really nice assist attacks in ROTK XI that are just super!

okay, i'm done.

Haha, I agree with this.

11 sounds awesome, every time you post you make me want to blow 40 dollars on it on the spot.

I've only had ROTK 8&10 and DW 5&6 + all their expansions, so I'm a little uninformed on DW4, heard it was really good, but it looks a lot like 5 so never tried it.

I do really like Xiahou Dun in 5, but I hated his weapon in 6, but don't pay to much heed to that because I pretty much complain about everybody's weapons/movesets in 6, haha.

Never really liked Gaun Yu in either series, he's too powerful. It's like Superman, except with a 3 foot beard.

Liu Bei is one of the one's where I'll admit I liked his moveset a lot better in 6.

Oh, how could I forget Sun Shang Xiang!? She was one of my favorites in 6, never played her much in 5 though.

That's really tempting, but I prefer to have an actaul copy of the game... and I prefer the console version of anything because my computer sucks at life.. Can't run hardly anything I get that's made after 2004.

I'll just have to wait till it comes it at the local gamestop.

In DW3 I'd say Diao Chan, DW5 Huang Zhong and in DW6 I'll say Liu Bei or Zhou Yu, not because I like Zhou Yu though but in DW6 Empires I used his fighting style to make a girl warrior and it's a pretty awesome fighting style imo. :P

I know exactly how you feel about computerz V_V
On a more uplifting note, Zhao Yun has kicked major @$$ for me since DW3, same as Dun, Guan Yu i feel got progressivley slower  in recent version till i decided not to use him anymore, love Liu Bei in DW6, why they didnt do that before is beyond me...hmmm...(and Bruneau, Sun Jian has to suicide level? I did just find with out ever dying with him)Sun Jian has been pretty good but his weapon became epic to me in DW6, Ma Chao on horseback in the older DW's was godly, Sun Ce is my favorite charcter to use that has a weird moveset in evrything up to 6, Sima Yi was a total monster when i first got him in 3, then in 6 i felt dissapointed cause he is so much harder to level up now....let's see, Zhou Tai gets an honorable mention with being a kick butt samurai, love his "evil knight" alt costume in DW5XL (dont know if its availabe in regular) in ROTK i usualy make created charcters and use them but Zhuge Liang is beast, so is Lu Xun, and Xiahou Yuan, that i think raps it up for me, oh and Zuo Ci in DW5 was totaly hands down the coolest charcter ever

suicide leveling means you do the minimal grinding necessary with a character necessary to beat their mosou on Normal mode

don't go over level 25 with most characters - definitely NOT over level 30 - in normal mode. :o

then without any more grinding you play their mosou on Master. if you die you play the level again till you beat it. :x

no more grinding allowed.

if you play with all your characters like this it will open your mind to a whole new type of gameplay and really educate you on the strengths and weaknesses of each character. ;)

this will teach you just how superior Diao Chan is to all movesets in the game - even the mighty Lu Bu's. she's the only character i was able to suicide level from level 1 on Master. her charge attack and her special make her practically invincible - especially her charge attack combo. once you master that combo you ENTER GLORY!

in fact, Lu Bu sucks pretty bad at suicide leveling. he's slow.

try it and you'll see!!!:P

but anyways, Sun Jian is the most awesome of all the characters at suicide leveling because his move set is right at the envelope of being impossible to suicide level. in other words you can fairly easily beat his normal mode without leveling him too high. but his resulting level leaves him at just the right disadvantage in Master that getting him through without any more grinding is very, very difficult and requires many retries. but it's not at all impossible to do. and when you finally do it you find yourself pumping your fists wildly in the air and shouting like a crazed champion warrior!! - and it makes you rally, really hate Cao Ren for some reason. :P

too bad. yeah, there comes a time when you realize you are spending 15 hours leveling a character to 50 on normal mode so you can slaughter on master mode. and then you realize if you were playing on Master sooner you would get more EXP per kill and level faster. then you realize if you did this even sooner and skipped as much normal mode as possible you could really get your characters leveled quick. then you realize just how much fun it is playing on levels that are really hard to complete and require some strategy to survive. it is when you have reached this point that you glory in it requiring you the exact amount of time or longer to level your characters because they keep dying in battle attempting the impossible versus mindless grinding on easy levels.

zhang liao and xiahou dun. i dont play ROTKjobo030

me too!! Those two are just SERIOUSLY badass! I also play as Gan Ning and Zhou Tai for the same reasons. Although I ALWAYS, without fail pick mister XD as my first character in any DW game.

In ROTK I am playing as myself and ruling the place. I have XD and his bro under my command. I think I have Zhang Liao too.
