I have a mission for you all...

I have been spying on other unions within gamespot, and i want you to do the same. I want to know what union(s) you have spied on, how active they are, and if they are active why do you think they are active.

Also, Voork, and the rest of you. I dont want to see you guys posting on Dynasty Warrior Alliance, they are dead anyway. If you thought we were slow, they havnt had posts in months. Let them die I say.

Though I have respect for endless_light and would enjoy his return here, the fact of the matter is that creating a rival DWU was treason and served only to devide our followers. So just let that union alone, as it's already in much worse shape than we are.

theres another DWU. Its called the Dynasty Warriors Union Just as us. It is far dead and has 120 members. I say we message the members and say if they want an active DW union to join us. The last letters won't Go blue. WTF?Voork

What the great Fat emperor means is that we should figure out how other unions (including non-DW unions) are still active

1 word..... ANIME, yes the scourge of the galaxy they had built it and nerds came

What is the point of spying on the rest of the unions? They don't have anything against us. (unless you jus' trippin' bcos they don't support Dynasty Warriors?)

What the anointed of the golden means to say, is that we should investigate how other unions (like the emblem union) function in order to, borrow, their good ideas for our own benefit. Things to look for:

• Do they use lots of polls?
• Is their home page filled with fancy schmancy pictoral buttons used to link to a variety of locales?
• What kind of posts tend to become popular?
• How "anal" are the officers in those unions?
• What sort of agricultural products to they grow in the winter months?

.... ecetera, ecetera. Personnally, Espionage is not my forte, that being limited to deadpan humor inspired comments upon oddities within the posts of others, so spying is not something I will be participating in, but the act itself is not hard at all to do. Just look at another unions webpage, look around in their forums, and report back any significant findings.

If they are in fact, growing tomatoes in december, we need to steal this magic for our own use. harden007

Yes analysing the problem is critical. The union weakness is caused by several factors.

1. Overall decline in the Unions (result of Gamespot's total lack of interest in unions).

2. Lack of Dynasty Warriors Content. (Those who are playing the game are not in this union, but are elsewhere).

3. The influence of the Hijackers. (who caused many to leave this union and start splinter DWunions).

Our main focus should be on recruiting people who are currently playing the new DW related games. They can post their experience and possibly start threads dedicated to aspects of those games.

number 2 should be easy to deal with but im going to look further at 1 and 3jobo030

there's really no looking into it. Not much can be done about GS lack on interest, others have tried in vein to get the staff to take action and i'ts failed. And the hijackers have fled.

All we can do is try to increase our DW related content.

well if we were to spend all this time in research of other unions wouldn't it take away from time that we could be posting in this union??

i was posting on DWA and am a member there - soon to flee if they don't come back to life. the reason i quit posting there was because i didn't have a next-gen console and couldn't play the new game. i hate hearing spoilers for games, movies, etc. so really i avoided the union altogether because i wanted to protect my eyes and ears from knowlege about the game.

so imhapo (in my humble and pathetic opinion) i think that's what other members there did as well. AND none of them will be coming around until they buy the game and a next-gen system.

my second hypothesis is that they did get DW6 and they hated it so they figured DW is dead. in that case DWU is the last bastion of the truly hard-core DW lovers and soon we too will turn away from the light and go over to the dark side.

okay. so i admit i have no freakin idea. but i love spouting off if you can't tell already.

an idea though: this Union advertises an online ROTK book. that's the one i read - the one online advertised here. and if you note the user comentary on the side it made the book feel like i was reading it at the exact same time with a bunch of other ROTK fans. needless to say it made reading it 10 times more fun than if i had read it alone.

now, DWA tried to imitate this in there Union but it failed miserably. the reason being is that the comentary was completely seperate from the book. so basically if you wanted to comment you had to write a whole message that was so long it was too hard for everyone to keep up with. however, when your comment is directly across from the lines you are commenting on it removes the need to reference what you are talking about in your comment. you simply spurt out your comment.

IF there was a way we could do this in this Union it would be excessively cool. especially if people could post comments in nearly the same fashion.

i'll investigate what you're talking about tomorrow, but keep in mind that we are limited to this outdated GS Union board, and anything that requires fancey features will need some creativity in order to pull off. But like i said ill take a look tomorrow.
