I just read an interview with the higher-up makers of the PS3. They said that they dont want it to be JUST a game system, but a whole entertainment system. Personally I think it shouldnt be much more than the PS2. You can watch dvd's, and play online, and thats really all you need. Just make these things better. They are giving the PS3 wireless internet, giving you dvd recording capabilities, and even having you save your data to an online storage system. And much more. They tried the dvd recording thing in japan, and it bombed big time. They are going to the blue ray disc which will make it better ( I guess), but it will also raise the price of each game by 10 to 15 dollars. The cell processor will actually change your data when you are not even playing. And for doing all of this it will raise the price of the system itself. I personally will ONLY use it for a GAME SYSTEM. Well I vented my concerns, whats your thoughts?noahcycle12
you wanna know why they do all that ****? So they can **** the consumers with a HUGE price tag, that's why!
(like Lethal Weapon, the way Leo says it)
They **** ya with the Playstations, the **** ya, they **** ya, they **** YA WIT THE PLAYSTATIONS!
AS: Why is Sony's next-generation console adopting a next-generation disc format?
KK: The current DVD [format] had a slow growth during its first three years of release, but it dramatically penetrated [through the market] after the release of the PS2, and its software prices had gone down. By using Blue-ray in the PS3, we hope to boost the amount of available [Blu-ray] software and sales of high-definition TV sets. With enough product [in the market], the Blu-ray will be one step closer to becoming the standard [next-generation] format.
this is kind of an old rumor now, but a little birdy told me that a lot of companies had their eyes on the xbox 3 for their next video-game project
but... once sony gave let companies taste the power of their prototype, companies started moving their projects to the ps3
LMAO
down with xbox and EA, nothing but up with sony :D
Personally, I will NEVER make use of any of the additional crap attached to the next-gen systems, so to me it's all just to add to the price tag. It's all pretty unnecessary (and impractical, in my humble opinion) to attach so many functions to what frequently amounts to a kid's plaything.taisho_rolyat
Thats exactly what I'm saying. Sony is trying to make a "swiss army knife" type of machine. If I want to play games, I want a game machine. If I want to burn dvd's, I will get a dvd recording machine. And so many people already have devices to do so. If you specialize a machine to do a certain type or number of things, than you can rest assured that it will do so very well because you can pour all of your attention into one area. Make it a game machine, keep the price low, and people will buy it and be happy. I have now heard it might be around 600 dollars. Holy S***. LOWER THE PRICE. Dont they know that if they go that high that sales will be alot lower than they could be. I cant buy it. I've got bills man. If they want to pay off my truck, I'll gladly buy it the very first day.:D

Thank you for contacting Nintendo,
Thanks for taking the time to share all your feedback with us. I have forwarded
it along to the appropriate departments for review.
When Nintendo's next generation console, code-named Revolution, launches in
2006, players will discover the meaning of All-Access Gaming! This new console
not only takes home entertainment into another dimension by expanding the
definition of video games, but also provides access to the great history of
gaming. Not only will our next home system be fully compatible with Nintendo
GameCube games, it will also have downloadable access to 20 years of
fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super NES, and even
the original NES.
The system boasts 512 megabytes of internal flash memory, wireless controllers,
two USB 2.0 ports and built-in Wi-Fi access. A worldwide network of Nintendo
players can gather to compete in a comfortable, inviting environment. There
will be a number of Wi-Fi-enabled launch titles, currently in development, that
will employ Nintendo's newly announced wireless gaming service, Nintendo Wi-Fi
Connection. In addition, there will be no charge for Wi-Fi connections, or
first-party Nintendo wireless Internet content.
Nintendo's All-Access Gaming philosophy covers the spectrum. The next console
fits anywhere. It brings together new games and old. It gives people worldwide
access through wireless Wi-Fi connections. And it opens the world of video games
- to everyone. We are enticing developers with the ease of developing great
games, and these games will even attract people who don't consider themselves
players. Adults, kids, men and women around the world will have access to the
most popular video game characters, the best game franchises and the most
engaging experiences yet developed - only with Nintendo.
Be sure to keep an eye on our web site at www.nintendo.com for all the latest
