I would also have to disagree with you there waha. If anything pc's are gaining and maybe even passing the consols especially with the consols new high prices. You dont need to upgrade every month i have a chip set and it can run all but the very newest games. To take the lag away you turn the graphics options lower and the PC has multiplayer dominance over any consol. All but the newest eh? And supposing you wanted to play the newest? Darn. Lowering graphics to remove lag is like saying "you know, I bought a game that was made last month, but in order to actually play it, I have to make it look like it was made two or three years ago." As far as multiplayer goes, some games yeah, I'll admit most console games are worse there, but in FPS's, I like my guns to go off when and where I tell them to. Without having to tone down the pretty colours.

I think both waha and the other guy could probably have somewhat more, tactful, when presenting their arguments, but I would have to disagree with the idea that PC's are inferrior to consoles or visa-versa. Take FPS for instance. I prefer the contro scheme console controllers have for navigation (joystick moves character in certain directions, makes them turn, press x to jump, etc.), but aiming using a consol controller is a real pain. For PC's, moving using a bunch of keys spread all across te keyboard is really aggravating, but mouse aiming is infinatly more precise than trying to wobble the reticle into place with some joystick. My point is, that each side has advantages and disadvantages, so both will be around so long as this remains true.JeffSteelAnyone attempting to play Sims 2 on a console should probably be shot, anyways. Besides that, no one is really addressing the graphics issue. I know graphics aren't the whole part of a game, but wouldn't you prefer to play a game with good graphics, that you don't have to make look bad to play fast? I'll agree that there are games far too complex to play on a console, such as WoW, and the sims, but new FPS's and RPG's like Oblivion and Unreal 2K7 will be much better looking on a console than on most of your computers. I'm curious, does anyone here actually HAVE a comp. that could potentially run UT2007 with at least reasonable framerates?
2 or 3 years ago still beats the crap out of what the ps2 is doing and most games dont need to be turned down(RPG MMO etc) The only one where you can have that problem is shooter games. And think about it dont consoles make you buy a new graphics card too? Guess what the pc ones arnt 600 dollars like the ps3.Yeah, consoles ARE like a new graphics card. Every FIVE YEARS. Let's say for instance, that you only update your comp. every six months, to be generous. $250 dollars x 10...seems to equal slightly more than $600. Not that I'm endorsing Sony, their price is bull too. And as far as the PS2 is concerned, I'm going to assume you haven't played FF 10, because if you had, you'd realize that games can be great without constant updating, or reducing graphics to crap. That's just one example though.

Indeed, I use a Radeon 9600 and it works fine on Black & White 2 and BFME2.Lu_Bu01I've seen screenshots of those, and it reminds me of Yuri's revenge, a game even I myself can play on my hideously outdated comp. I'd enjoy seeing you play half-life 2, or Doom 3 without reducing image quality. All I'm trying to say here is that to play pretty games, you need to pay a pretty price. I'd rather pay once, and get consistent graphics. I can't imagine why though.

I don't use my comp for fancy games and I only needed what B&W2 required.

six months is generous?
I've never gotten a new graphic card on my comp that is two years old, and I can play the newest games on it.
For one my Chip set can run Half Life 2 and Doom 3 on the PC although you may need a good graphics card {or maybe you don't ill go check the requirements) beats the heck out of anything the xbox version has.(yes i have seen screenshots)WOW! Your comp can run Doom 3!?!? Can it turn on too? Does it let you type in letters on the screen even? I bet it has a mouse too! Am I right? God. I'm not arguing bare ability, I'm arguing quality, or bang for ones buck. The PC and Xbox versions of Doom 3 are so close together, you'd have to be a rabid fanboy to tell the difference.

All I know is this...
-Half my PC games dont work because my PC cant handle them. Updating drivers does nothing.
-We unwrapped Civilization IV on Christmas and guess what... doesnt work. The greatest disappointment.
-I have dialup so all that online *&^% is fubar to me.
-Most consol games are like "Hotshot Billiards" and "Sammy Squirell Goes Shopping" and a bunch of other crap I dont care for.
-Im way to poor to buy games anymore.
-No point to this post, just needed to vent.
Hmmm, I must be the only PC gamer on this Union haha. PC Gaming will never die because it continues to improve and pc gamers just love the online aspects of it like mods/communities. The fact you angered a pc fanboy makes me laugh, but you shouldn't really care. I tend to avoid every type of fanboy seeing as how I enjoy every way to play games. Btw, I can play Doom 3 and Half Life 2 :wink:CommanderShiroI like your post. You didn't flame consoles, and you didn't make excuses. Good job!
I prefer consoles, i hate it when i get a game for my PC and it doesn't run because i'm not up to date on one part of a huge list of potential problems. I have a very up to date pc and some games still have trouble running on them to be honest i would rather go out and buy the new X-box than spend more money on a new graphics card.
FPS's are better on PC though in my opinion, easier to control.
