Nintendo seems more than satisfied with the DS right now, and Iwata even said that the Gameboy line likely has come to an end. What do you think? Do you think they will ever make another traditional Gameboy?
Sorry to say but NO ! The gameboy is dead eversince the DS came out ! Also why would they even want to bring it back? It would be like saying are they going to make another Virtual Boy and we all know what happend to that !
in my opinion it will happen someday. In the future (distant future of course), Nintendo will be short on funds and will need somehting to keep them alive, and everybody knows there are two things nintendo can strategically pull to bring in sales.....all they have to say is Pokemon, and Gameboy and youve got about 20 million kids waiting in line for a gameboy
I thought it was a bad move not to call the DS the Gameboy DS or something of the like. The name "Gameboy" was well known. I'm not sure of the correct term, but it's like when people say Coke instead of cola because the brand name was more well known that the generic term, like what the name ipods are to mp3 players. Anywho I think Nintendo should at least bring back the name, cuase people not in the know still call portable gaming devices gameboys.
No, if you look back Nintendo has used up all the ideas you could want in a Game Boy. First it was the GB then came the Color, then the Advance, then the SP which had the backlight, then the better lighted SP, and now the Micro which is everything. Light and very bright.
I think the Gameboy died along with it's creator...may he rest in peace...And the GBA was just a final goodbye type thing. And the differnt versoins were well an extended good bye and great profit.

no he means Gamboy Light. allow me to explain; the Gameboy Light was only released in Japan and was meerly a Gameboy Pocket with a backlit screen. I learned that from the Nintendo History thread a few weeks ago when I was so bored I read the whole thing.

The Gameboy is on it's way out. The DS is doing an excellent job and the Gameboy being laid to rest. The Gameboy did its years on the market. It is time for the DS to rule. Maybe the Gameboy will rise in the future???

Thats so funny and yet so true but i have trouble believing nintendo will be short on funds any time soon.
Well nintendo did say that the DS is not GBA2 but i heard because of the success of the ds in japan Iwata said that nintendo will hold out and maybe even bring gameboy to an end. It would be good to see a GBA 2
I say wee look to the future and realise new ways to experience games like the touch screen and Wiimote. Let the Gameboy rest in peace. *bows head in respect*
