I just have a question for all of you.Has anyone here picked up the DS Headset yet ? If so does it actually work well ? Cause for a $20 price tag i'm kind of skeptical about getting one for my self, but i guess for $20 you can't really go wrong either.Let me know your thoughts about it !

Well I wouldn't get it. I don't speak online(if you have played me in Pokemon you would know this). I'm like Link I'm a mute during online. Anyway, even if I did like to speak online I wouldn't get it. It replaced the aduio from the DS's speakers and emits it from the headset so you only have sound on one side. And I think the mic on the DS works fine enough.

Same for me, I usually don't have a problem with speaking online but ...... not with GS members, no.

Are you saying that you don't feel comfortable speaking online with other GS membrs? :P Why not? ;)

As for my take on the headset, it's just a useless accessory that people can live without, but it's there as a ploy to perhaps make a slight bit of profit. It's not something like the Xbox 360 headset where you HAVE to have one if you wish to talk online, so there's really no point in getting one, with the DS already being able to let you communicate online and all. ;)

I think it's better if we just speak with the forums rather then with voices because we've grown custom to that and all have like an imaginary voice for everybody. So maybe voice chat could ruin this image and maybe somebody like REV could have a girly voice I don't know :P (no insult intended). Plus somebody who voice chat with me on MPH (last summer) said I was an emo :|.

Lmao, I think that speaking online would be less revealing than having someone you know well (via the internet) posting their picture online. :P

But I totally understand where you're coming from. ;) In any case, I still wouldn't mind hearing what everybody sounds like. :P

Considering the few amount of games that actually use voice chat: I say don't waste your money on it.  Buy a game instead.

If it was compatible with Wii however, then I'd say it'd be worth it... but it sadly isn't.

Also, I agree with lebanse_boy, I think we all just have a fake idea of what everyone sounds like... it's kind of like Link talking in Zelda, we each have an imaginary voice like lebs said imagined in our heads, and most of us don't want that ruined.  By the way lebs, I don't have a girly voice so you don't have to worry

I have the same feeling. I would rather keep all my imaginary voices for you guys then rather hear the real thing.

For the question, I will not get the mic because I have a black DS lite and the mic is white. I also don't see the point in needing it.

Well I don't see the point in having a headset at all considering the DS has a built-in MIC :?. Useless money spent if you ask me.

If you do not want people butting in and hearing the conversation it would be useful.

Yeah, that's true.  I actually thought about that during one of the matches in Pokemon a few weeks ago, because if there is someone talking in the background you can hear their voice since the DS mic is sensitive enough to pick up noise in the background.

I see that the only real reason to get one. If you live in a quite house I don't see the point in getting it, if you don't you could consider it.

Actually the mic is pretty sensative .... you don't really need the DS to be close to your face but at least decently close.

I agree, when the DS gets too close to your face your voice gets very staticy and it makes it hard to hear. This happens all the time when I battle people on Pokemon.

I honestly don't know where you would plug in the mic wire for the Wii unless it's wireless like the Xbox 360 Wireless Mic. You couldn't put it in the WiiMote because when you play games online most of them with be WiiMote+Nunchuk so there would be no more ports.

It would have to wireless. There has to be a way for it to work too.
